Flooring in Tarporley – Amtico, Karndean, Invictus & Engineered Wood
Tarporley’s long High Street of Georgian and Victorian buildings sits between Delamere Forest and the sandstone ridge crowned by Beeston Castle. Around it, CW6 is a patchwork of farms, barn conversions and small villages. Grosvenor Flooring supplies and fits LVT and engineered wood across the whole area.
We sell Amtico and Karndean as a Retail Partner of each brand. Invictus, Project Floors, our own GF range and engineered wood complete the choice. Blake Williams, our Operations Director, lives a few miles away in Tarvin and carries out every Tarporley survey himself.

Country Homes Need a Different Approach
A farmhouse kitchen or a converted shippon is not the same job as a modern semi. Old flagstones, solid floors without a damp-proof membrane and big open spaces all change what will work. Blake looks at each of these on his visit and explains the options plainly. He qualified as an accountant at Baker Tilly before joining us, so his quotes leave nothing to guess.
The fitting is done by our Cheshire team of regular fitters, people we know and trust. Read about our supply and fit service to see each stage.
Flooring for Tarporley Homes
Amtico in Tarporley
Our Amtico choice runs from Signature and Spacia through Form and First to Click Smart and Access. Signature’s flagstone and slate designs are a favourite for barn conversions because they keep the rustic look without the cold. Add a border or feature stripping to frame a large room.
The Amtico floor fitter page explains how we lay it. To learn why buying from a Retail Partner matters, read buying Amtico from a Retail Partner.
Karndean in Tarporley
We carry Karndean Art Select, Van Gogh, Van Gogh Rigid Core, Knight Tile, Knight Tile Rigid Core and Palio Essenza. Van Gogh’s hand-scraped and distressed oaks look at home under exposed beams.
Torn between brands? Amtico vs Karndean sets out the differences. See our Karndean floor fitter page for how it goes down.
Invictus, Project Floors & GF
Invictus comes in four ranges: Maximus, Maximus Click, Primus and Ultimus. It costs less than the two big names for a similar finish. Project Floors is the hard-wearing option for boot rooms, tack rooms and holiday lets.
GF is our own LVT, designed to match the leading brands at a keener price. For more wood choice, Textures and Elements offer plank and herringbone. All three can be sampled free through our samples page. More detail on the LVT floor fitter and Invictus floor fitter pages.
Engineered Wood in Tarporley
Oak belongs in a Cheshire farmhouse. Our own GF engineered wood comes in plank, herringbone, chevron and Versailles. Its rustic and character grades suit old buildings. See every board in the Wood Room or read about the best engineered wood for period properties.
Holding a Ted Todd or Woodpecker price? Set it against GF with the help of our Ted Todd article and our Woodpecker article. Installation is covered on the engineered wood floor fitter page.
Can I See the Floors Before I Buy?
Yes. Our Altrincham showroom at 82 Stamford New Road is about 40 minutes away using the A49 and M56. It runs as a 24/7 Smart Showroom, which suits farming hours as well as office ones. Ask for a door code before you set off.

Start Floor FinderFlooring in Tarporley – Frequently Asked Questions
Can you fit LVT over old flagstones?
Sometimes. Blake checks the stones are sound and dry. Often a levelling layer and a damp barrier are needed first.
What if my farmhouse floor has no damp-proof membrane?
We test for moisture and can add a suitable barrier before the new floor goes down.
What looks right in a barn conversion?
Long engineered oak planks or Amtico Signature stone designs both suit big, open rooms.
Do you cover Bunbury and Kelsall?
We do. Every village in CW6 is on our patch.
How far is it to your showroom?
Plan on 40 minutes or so. Once you have a door code, there are no opening hours to worry about.
Which floor suits a tack room or boot room?
Project Floors or a Rigid Core Karndean will cope with mud and heavy wear.
Can I try samples at home?
Yes. We post GF, Textures and Elements samples free of charge to CW6 addresses.
How soon can Blake visit?
Usually quickly. He lives in Tarvin, only a few miles away.
