V4 Deco Wood Flooring

V4 Deco is V4’s design-led engineered wood collection — the broadest colour and format library in the V4 catalogue, built with both European Oak and American Black Walnut, finished in coloured oils, natural oils or UV-cured lacquer, and offered in matching plank and herringbone formats so you can run different patterns through the home in the same wood and finish. Where Alpine is the calm rustic wide-board and Tundra is built around format variety, Deco is built around design choice.

Deco is supplied through Grosvenor Flooring as an Approved V4 Gold Account retailer — V4’s premium retail tier — covering the UK with supply-and-fit available across Altrincham, Manchester and Cheshire. Pricing is on a Request a Price basis; we’ll quote a single all-in price including V4’s direct delivery to your address, and we’ll beat any genuine competitor quote you’ve already received. Get in touch via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or by phone.

About V4 Deco

Deco is V4’s wide-design collection — the range a buyer reaches for when colour, surface texture and format flexibility are part of the brief. The European Oak boards run through a range of brushed surfaces and coloured-oil tones; the American Black Walnut plank gives Deco its only non-oak option, with the deeper warmth that walnut brings to a room. Every Deco floor carries V4’s 35-year domestic guarantee.

The standout structural feature of Deco is the matching plank and herringbone formats — the same colour and finish runs through both, so you can specify a wide-plank floor in the open-plan space and a matching herringbone in the entrance hall or principal bedroom. Few engineered oak ranges at this price point offer that level of within-collection consistency across formats.

Designs in the Collection

Deco covers a wide library of plank and herringbone designs across European Oak and American Black Walnut. The full live design list and current product codes are best viewed on the collection pages — V4 occasionally adds or refreshes shades, and the live page reflects the current range available through Grosvenor.

Plank or Herringbone?

Both formats use the same engineered construction, the same wood grade and the same V4 finishes — so the choice between Deco plank and Deco herringbone is almost purely about pattern and room scale. Wide plank suits open-plan spaces where you want long sightlines; herringbone suits entrance halls, principal bedrooms or standalone rooms where the laying pattern itself becomes part of the design. Many of our Deco buyers specify both — wide plank in the main living spaces and matching herringbone in a feature room — for a coordinated whole-home scheme.

Where to Use V4 Deco

Deco is suitable for the typical UK living spaces where engineered oak and walnut perform best — lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and offices. As with all real-wood flooring, Deco is not recommended for bathrooms, wet rooms or conservatories with significant temperature swings. For wet areas we’d usually steer clients towards luxury vinyl flooring instead.

Underfloor Heating

Deco is compatible with water-based underfloor heating subject to V4’s standard rules — a 27°C maximum surface temperature, gradual commissioning before installation, and heat output matched to the floor build-up. Mention UFH when you request a price and we’ll match the floor build-up to your system. American Black Walnut behaves slightly differently to oak under thermal cycling, so the floor build-up advice will differ between the oak and walnut Deco options — we’ll specify accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes V4 Deco Plank different from other engineered wood ranges?

The Deco Plank collection often focuses on more sophisticated and sometimes unique finishes and surface treatments. This can include techniques like hand-applied lyes, special staining processes, distressing, or combining brushing with smoking to create deeper colours and textures, resulting in floors with a distinct, high-end character.

Is the Deco Plank range durable?

Yes, it is designed for durability. It features a real hardwood wear layer (typically 3mm) on a stable engineered base. The choice of finish (lacquer, UV oil, hardwax oil) also contributes to its resilience against daily wear. The rustic grading and textured surfaces often found in this range can also help mask minor signs of use. It comes with a 35-year residential warranty.

Can I install V4 Deco Plank flooring myself?

While the tongue and groove system facilitates installation, achieving a professional finish with engineered wood requires careful subfloor preparation and attention to detail (like expansion gaps). For a premium product like Deco Plank, professional installation is generally recommended to ensure the floor performs correctly and the warranty remains valid.

Are there matching accessories for the Deco Plank range?

V4 typically offers matching accessories like skirting boards, thresholds, and Scotia beading for their flooring ranges to ensure a cohesive and professional finish. It's best to check availability for the specific Deco Plank colour you choose. Additionally, V4 often offers complementary parquet patterns (like Deco Parquet) in matching finishes for creating feature areas or use in different rooms.
