Bedroom LVT Flooring

The bedroom is the lowest-stress room in the house from a flooring point of view — minimal foot traffic, no moisture, no point loads beyond a bed leg, and almost no risk of impact damage. That makes it the easiest room in which to specify luxury vinyl flooring and the room where the cheapest end of the wear-layer ladder is genuinely the right answer. The interesting bedroom-specific decisions are about acoustics, comfort underfoot and matching the floor to an adjoining hallway or en-suite.

At Grosvenor Flooring we stock the full bedroom-suitable LVT libraries from Amtico, Karndean and our own GF LVT range. Browse the full bedroom collection below or get in touch via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or phone for a same-working-day quote.

Why LVT Works in a Bedroom

The traditional bedroom answer in Britain is carpet, and there is nothing wrong with carpet in a bedroom — but the case for LVT specifically is that it is warmer than tile, more comfortable than laminate, allergy-friendly (no fibres for dust mites to live in), and visually consistent with a continuous-floor specification running through from the hallway. With a deep wool rug under the bed, an LVT bedroom can be every bit as warm and quiet as a carpeted bedroom — and a lot easier to clean.

Wear Layer — 0.3mm Is Plenty

For a bedroom in normal use, 0.3mm is the right answer. Amtico Spacia, Karndean Knight Tile and GF LVT all sit at this spec point and they will outlast the next two beds. There is no reason to pay for a 0.55mm wear layer in a bedroom unless the spec is being matched to an adjoining hallway or principal en-suite for visual continuity.

Install Format — Glue Down or Click Rigid Core

The bedroom is one of the rooms where install format is a real choice. Glue down LVT is the right answer for a refurb where the existing floor is coming up. Click rigid-core LVT is the right answer for a retrofit over an existing chipboard or screed floor — it floats on a thin acoustic underlay and adds a small amount of impact-sound dampening, which matters more upstairs than downstairs.

The Bedroom Ranges We Stock

Karndean Knight Tile and Karndean Knight Tile Rigid Core — Karndean’s entry domestic glue-down at 0.3mm wear layer, plus the rigid-core click variant for upper-floor retrofits.

Amtico Spacia and Amtico First — Amtico’s two entry glue-down ranges at 0.3mm wear layer, the volume answer for a bedroom on a sensible budget.

Karndean Van Gogh Rigid Core — Van Gogh’s premium 0.55mm design library on a rigid-core click base, the right answer for a principal bedroom retrofit.

Amtico Click Smart — Amtico’s click format for retrofits.

GF LVT — our own-brand glue down at premium European spec, sharp pricing, full online checkout and free samples — the volume answer for a bedroom on a sensible budget.

Acoustics — Why Bedrooms Get an Underlay

The one bedroom-specific install detail is impact sound. On an upper-floor bedroom over a lounge or kitchen, you want to limit how much footstep noise transmits down through the joists. Click rigid-core LVT comes with a thin acoustic backing built in; on a glue-down install on a sensitive joist subfloor, we will sometimes specify an acoustic underlayment between the chipboard and the LVT to take impact sound down a few decibels. We will spec this in person on the supply-and-fit job; if you are sourcing an installer yourself, ask them to factor it in.

Underfloor Heating

UFH is increasingly common in principal bedrooms and en-suites. Every glue-down range we stock — and every rigid-core click range — is compatible with both wet and electric UFH up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Acclimatise the boxes for 48 hours and follow the manufacturer’s commissioning sequence.

Continuous-Floor Story — Bedroom and En-Suite

The most common bedroom LVT specification we sell is the same plank running from the bedroom into the adjoining en-suite with no threshold strip. This works visually and practically because LVT is one of the very few products that is genuinely happy in both rooms — it is fully waterproof in the en-suite and warm and quiet in the bedroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is LVT a better choice for a bedroom than carpet?

LVT is a more hygienic and durable alternative to carpet. Unlike carpet, which can trap dust, allergens, and pet dander, LVT is easy to clean and maintains a pristine surface, making it a great choice for those with allergies. While carpet is softer, LVT is warm underfoot and can be used with underfloor heating, and you can add a rug for extra softness.

Does LVT feel cold underfoot in the bedroom?

No, LVT is a synthetic product that is much warmer to the touch than natural stone or ceramic tiles. Its layered construction provides a good level of thermal insulation, making it a comfortable surface for bare feet, and it works wonderfully with underfloor heating.

Will furniture leave marks on my LVT bedroom floor?

High-quality LVT is highly resistant to indentations and marks from furniture. It is always a good practice, however, to use felt pads or floor protectors under the legs of heavy furniture, such as beds and wardrobes, to prevent any potential damage. This will help keep your floor looking new for years to come.
