It was built to do three jobs we found ourselves doing over and over for customers:

- Find a Grosvenor product that looks like something you’ve seen on another retailer’s website.
- Surface an instant in-stock alternative when the product you wanted is on a long lead time.

HOW FLOOR FINDER WORKS
When you upload a photo, our AI engine analyses the visual fingerprint of your image – grain pattern, plank width, joint detail, colour temperature and overall tone – and searches across every active product in our range for the closest visual matches.
You get back the 24 highest-scoring results, each one ranked by similarity. The closer the score to 100%, the closer the visual match. An 87% match will look almost identical to the photo you uploaded. An 85% match will sit in the same visual family – same grain character and colour family – with some natural variation.
Each result links to a live product page. Click through to see full specifications, order a sample or place it in your own room using our AI Room Visualiser. Most searches complete in under five seconds.

Match an existing floor
A bedroom refresh that has to tie into the lounge. A damaged board that needs replacing without re-laying the whole room. An extension going onto an existing kitchen. Take a photo of what you’ve already got and Floor Finder returns the visually-closest products from across our range – covering LVT, SPC, engineered wood and herringbone parquet. Order a sample of the top matches and lay them next to the existing floor in the light of the actual room before you commit.
Find a Grosvenor product that looks like one on another website
Customers regularly send us links to products on other retailers’ sites asking “do you stock anything like this?” Our team used to trawl the database by hand to find the closest matches. Floor Finder externalises that workflow so you can do it yourself in seconds. Drop the photo into the tool, or right-click the product image on the other website, copy the image address, paste it into a new browser tab, open the rendered image and drag it across into Floor Finder. The closest matches from our range come back with similarity scores attached.
Find an in-stock alternative
The product you wanted is on a long lead time or temporarily out of stock? Drop the image into Floor Finder (or scroll to the “You might also like” carousel on its product page – it’s powered by the same engine) and get instant alternatives from across our stocked ranges. Stops a single SKU from holding up a project.

WHAT TO DO ONCE YOU’VE FOUND A MATCH
Floor Finder returns matches, not decisions. Once you’ve found a product or two that look right, the next step depends on you:
- Order a sample. Hold the real material in your hand and check it in the light of the room it’s going in. Order samples here.

How does Floor Finder work?
Floor Finder is an AI-powered visual search tool. When you upload a photo, the AI engine analyses its visual fingerprint – grain, plank width, joint detail, colour temperature and overall tone – and searches across every active product on our site for the closest visual matches. The 24 highest-scoring results come back ranked by similarity. The whole search typically completes in under five seconds.
Is Floor Finder free to use?
Yes. No sign-up is needed for a basic search. We rate-limit very high-volume use to keep the experience fast for everyone but a normal customer running through a handful of searches will never hit the cap.
What kind of photo works best?
Anything that shows the floor clearly. A smartphone snapshot of an existing floor is fine. A lifestyle image where the floor takes up a reasonable portion of the frame works well. A tight close-up of a single board works even better. Avoid heavily-edited or filtered images – the closer the photo is to the floor’s real colour and grain, the closer the matches will be. We accept JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and HEIC up to 30 MB.
Can I use a photo from another website?
Yes. The cleanest way is to right-click the product image on the other site, choose “Copy image address”, paste it into your browser address bar, open the rendered image and drag it into Floor Finder. We’re working on a paste-URL field so you can skip the extra steps.
What if the floor I want is out of stock?
Floor Finder is built for this. Drop a photo of the product you wanted and the engine pulls visually-similar alternatives from across our stocked ranges. If you’re already on the product page of an out-of-stock item, the “You might also like” carousel below it runs on the same engine and surfaces the same kind of alternatives without needing an upload.
How accurate are the matches?
Each result carries its own similarity score. 87% and above is a very close visual match. 85-86% sits in the same visual family with some natural variation in tone, grain or plank width. Floor Finder is a visual matcher – it doesn’t yet filter for practical fit (underfloor-heating compatibility, bathroom suitability, pet resistance and similar). Always check the product page specifications before ordering.
Is my image stored or shared with third parties?
We log searches for monitoring and quality purposes – timestamp, IP and similarity score range. Your uploaded image is processed by our AI engine for the matching step only and we don’t store the image on our servers beyond the time it takes to return your results.
