Balterio Lyra
Balterio Lyra is a rigid core click vinyl range in ten oak decors, supplied across two plank tiers: a 6.0mm wide-plank tier and a 5.0mm standard-plank tier. Every decor is fully waterproof, has a built-in underlay and a four-sided bevel and clicks together to float over most existing subfloors, which makes it one of the more practical premium vinyl floors both to live with and to fit.
Balterio is a European flooring specialist and Lyra is its rigid vinyl range, developed and manufactured by Unilin Flooring in Belgium using the patented Uniclic locking system. The 6.0mm tier is rated Class 33 for heavy domestic and general commercial use with a 20-year domestic guarantee; the 5.0mm tier is rated Class 32 with a 15-year guarantee. Both are 100% waterproof, so Lyra holds up in the busiest rooms in the home.

About Balterio Lyra
Balterio is a long-established European flooring specialist and Lyra is its rigid vinyl range, made by Unilin Flooring in Belgium. Unilin invented the Uniclic click system, so Lyra uses a locking joint that fits together precisely and seals the seam between planks. Every board is 100% waterproof, built on a stable rigid core and finished with a Superguard Gold surface protection layer over an Intense Wood texture that reads as natural oak underfoot.
Lyra comes in two plank tiers so you can match the floor to the room. The 6.0mm tier uses wide 228mm planks with eight unique plank faces per decor, rated Class 33 for the busiest and light-commercial spaces and carries a 20-year domestic guarantee. The 5.0mm tier uses 180mm planks with ten unique plank faces, rated Class 32 with a 15-year guarantee. As a Balterio approved retailer, Grosvenor Flooring supplies the full Lyra range with pricing shown openly online, free samples and free UK delivery, backed by a price-match promise on the lowest approved-retailer price in the UK.
The Lyra Range and Colours
Lyra is oak-led throughout. The 6.0mm wide-plank tier covers seven decors: Natural Essential Oak, Caramel Classical Oak, Golden Heart Oak, Taupe Heritage Oak, Walnut Harvest Oak, Stonefield Grey Oak and Blonde Meadow Oak. The 5.0mm standard tier covers three decors: Taupe Whitewashed Oak, Hazelbrown Pear Oak and Brown Weathered Oak. Across the ten, the lighter and cooler tones run through Blonde Meadow Oak, Stonefield Grey Oak, Taupe Whitewashed Oak and Natural Essential Oak; the mid-warm oaks are Caramel Classical Oak, Golden Heart Oak, Hazelbrown Pear Oak and Taupe Heritage Oak; and the richer, deeper decors are Walnut Harvest Oak and Brown Weathered Oak. Rigid Click Construction and Uniclic Fitting
Lyra is a rigid core floor rather than a flexible one, which makes it dimensionally stable and stiff enough to bridge minor imperfections in the subfloor. It clicks together with the Uniclic system and floats over most existing hard floors after a flatness check. It needs no adhesive, has no curing time and can be lifted and relaid later. The built-in underlay speeds up fitting and improves acoustic comfort, cutting impact noise underfoot and to the rooms below. If you are weighing the fit against a bonded floor, our guide to glue-down vs click LVT talks the decision through in detail.
Where to Use Balterio Lyra
Because it is fully waterproof, Lyra can go throughout the home. It performs especially well in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways where moisture and traffic are highest. It is equally at home in lounges, bedrooms and dining rooms. For the busiest and light-commercial spaces the 6.0mm Class 33 tier is the one to choose. Its wide 228mm plank makes open-plan rooms feel larger.
Balterio Lyra and Underfloor Heating
Lyra is compatible with underfloor heating and cooling systems. As with any floating vinyl floor, bring the system up to temperature gradually before and after installation and keep the floor surface within the recommended limit, usually 27C. Because Lyra clicks together over the subfloor with its built-in underlay, it suits a heated room well and gives an even, comfortable warmth underfoot. Always follow the installation guidance to preserve performance and the guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Balterio Lyra?
Balterio Lyra is a rigid core click vinyl (LVT) range made by Unilin in Belgium. It is 100% waterproof, has a built-in underlay and comes in ten oak decors with a four-sided bevel, across a 6.0mm wide-plank tier (Class 33) and a 5.0mm standard tier (Class 32).
Is Balterio Lyra waterproof and where can it be used?
Yes. Lyra is 100% waterproof and rated up to Class 33, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways, lounges, bedrooms and dining rooms, as well as light-commercial spaces.
How is Balterio Lyra installed?
Lyra uses the Uniclic rigid click system and a built-in underlay, so it floats over most existing subfloors without adhesive after a flatness check. That makes for a fast, clean installation. The floor can be lifted and relaid later if needed.
Can Balterio Lyra be laid over underfloor heating?
Yes. Lyra is suitable for underfloor heating and cooling. Bring the system up to temperature gradually and keep the floor surface within the recommended limit, usually 27C, following the manufacturer guidance.
What size are the planks and how many designs are there?
Lyra comes in two tiers. The 6.0mm tier has wide 228 x 1220mm planks with eight unique plank faces per decor; the 5.0mm tier has 180 x 1220mm planks with ten unique plank faces. Both have a four-sided bevel. Across the ten oak decors the plank faces vary, so the pattern does not visibly repeat across a large floor.
What guarantee does Balterio Lyra come with?
The 6.0mm wide-plank tier carries a 20-year domestic guarantee and the 5.0mm tier a 15-year guarantee, supported when the floor is installed and maintained to the manufacturer guidelines. Every decor has a Superguard Gold surface protection layer with R9 slip resistance.
Can I order a sample of Balterio Lyra before buying?
Yes. As a Balterio approved retailer we offer free samples so you can compare the oak tones in your own light before ordering. Samples and the floor itself ship free across the UK.
How does rigid click vinyl compare to glue-down LVT?
Rigid click vinyl like Lyra floats over the subfloor and fits faster with no adhesive, while glue-down LVT is bonded down for the most seamless, stable finish. Our glue-down vs click LVT guide explains which suits your rooms and subfloor best.
