Wood Effect Chevron LVT
Wood-effect chevron LVT is the sharpest, most directional parquet pattern available in luxury vinyl. Each plank is V-cut at the end so the points meet in a continuous arrow rather than stepping past one another like herringbone. The result is a designer-led, French-parquet look in a vinyl that handles kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and underfloor heating without any of the seasonal movement of solid wood — and which can be specified across whole open-plan ground floors as a single architectural feature.
At Grosvenor Flooring we cover the wood-effect chevron category with Amtico Signature, Karndean Art Select and Project Floors Chevron. Browse the collection below or contact us for advice via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or phone — and visit the Altrincham showroom to see the ranges in person.
What Is Wood Effect Chevron LVT?
Chevron is a parquet pattern in which each plank is cut to a 45° or 60° angle at both ends, so when two planks meet they form a single continuous arrow rather than the stepped, right-angled look of herringbone. Chevron LVT takes that traditional French-parquet visual and reproduces it in a luxury vinyl tile — high-resolution wood print, deeply embossed surface, tough PU wear layer, fully waterproof and UFH-compatible.
The Wood Effect Chevron Collections We Stock
Amtico Signature includes a chevron-cut plank library — 1mm wear layer, glue-down spec, the deepest oak design library on the UK market.
Karndean Art Select includes chevron designs cut to coordinate with the wider Art Select wood plank library.
Project Floors Chevron is the contract-grade German chevron range we use for designers and architects on premium domestic and commercial schemes.
Chevron vs Herringbone vs Plank
Chevron is the sharper, more directional cousin of wood-effect herringbone LVT — same parquet feel, but the angled cuts create a continuous arrow rather than a stepped pattern. If you want the parquet look without the directional emphasis, herringbone is the more classical answer. If you want the wood look without any parquet at all, see wood-effect plank LVT. Chevron is also available in real engineered wood — see engineered wood chevron.
Where to Use Wood Effect Chevron LVT
Chevron is most often specified in kitchens, hallways, dining rooms and open-plan ground floors where the floor is on show.
Underfloor Heating
All ranges are compatible with both wet and electric UFH up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Glue-down is recommended for the strongest UFH performance — see glue down LVT.
Installation Notes
Chevron is the most demanding parquet format to install — the angled cuts are unforgiving of set-out errors and the pattern needs to be planned carefully from the centre line of the room. Use an experienced LVT fitter. Our own teams handle chevron installs across Cheshire and South Manchester from the Altrincham showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a chevron and a herringbone pattern?
While both patterns are visually similar, they are constructed differently. Herringbone planks are laid at a 90-degree angle to create a staggered zigzag pattern. Chevron planks are cut at an angle (usually 45 degrees) at the ends to fit together and create a continuous, straight zigzag pattern with no staggering, giving it a cleaner, more defined look.
Is Wood Effect Chevron LVT difficult to install myself?
Yes, due to the intricate chevron pattern, installation is more challenging than with standard LVT planks. It requires careful measurement and precise placement to ensure the pattern is straight and symmetrical. For the best possible result, we highly recommend professional installation.
Can Wood Effect Chevron LVT be used in a kitchen or bathroom?
Yes, absolutely. Its water-resistant properties make it an excellent choice for moisture-prone areas like kitchens and bathrooms. It allows you to have the sophisticated look of a chevron floor in a room where a traditional wood floor would be at risk of water damage.
