White LVT Flooring
White is the lightest end of the LVT colour spectrum and one of the most demanding to specify well. Pure brilliant white is rare on a real floor — most “white LVT” is in fact a white-washed oak, a limed ash, a bleached pine or a near-white limestone. At Grosvenor Flooring our white luxury vinyl flooring collection covers all four routes — drawn from the Karndean, Amtico, Project Floors and GF LVT libraries — and the right answer for your room depends as much on the light coming into it as on the cabinetry above.
If you have searched for a specific Karndean or Amtico white or limed design — including the popular white-maple and white-washed oak names that turn up in search — get in touch via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or phone and we will confirm current availability, the right wear layer for the room and pull a same-working-day price for you. Or browse the full white collection below, and see the colours in person at the 24/7 smart-lock Altrincham showroom — white reads warmer or cooler depending on the light source, so a sample in your own room is essential before committing.
Why “White” Floors Are Almost Never Pure White
A pure RAL-white floor is almost impossible to live with — it shows every footprint, every dropped crumb, every speck of dust within an hour of cleaning, and it reads as clinical rather than calm. The “white LVT” the British market actually buys is one of four products: a white-washed oak (oak grain visible through a thin white pigment), a limed oak or ash (cooler, paler, with a whitened grain), a bleached or driftwood pine (warm undertones, near-white surface), or a white limestone or marble effect in a stone tile format. Each of those reads as “white” in a brochure but behaves very differently in a real room. Knowing which one you actually want is the most important decision on this page.
The White Wood and Stone Effects We Stock
Browse by effect: wood-effect plank (the bulk of the white-washed oak and limed ash library), wood-effect herringbone (white-washed herringbone reads especially well in a Scandinavian-style scheme), wood-effect parquet, stone-effect tile for the white limestone and marble end of the spectrum, and stone-effect herringbone.
The White Ranges We Stock
Karndean Art Select — Karndean’s flagship 0.55mm glue-down library is the deepest source of white-washed oak and limed ash designs in the British LVT market, and the range most “white LVT” search traffic is looking at. 25-year domestic warranty.
Karndean Van Gogh — same 0.55mm wear layer as Art Select, longer wider plank format, ideal for a Scandinavian-style open-plan kitchen-diner.
Karndean Knight Tile — the source of most of Karndean’s white limestone and marble stone-effect designs.
Amtico Signature — Amtico’s flagship 1mm glue-down range carries the strongest white limestone and marble stone library on the British market, plus a contemporary library of bleached and limed wood designs.
Amtico Form — Amtico’s herringbone-and-parquet glue-down range at 0.55mm, the right answer for a white-washed herringbone floor.
Project Floors — German contract-grade glue down with a strong limed oak and bleached pine library used by architects on Scandinavian and contemporary fit-outs.
GF LVT — our own-brand glue down covers the most-asked-for white-washed oak designs at premium European spec, full online checkout and free samples.
Which Rooms Does White Suit Best?
White is the right answer where you actively need to push light around the room: a north-facing lounge that does not get direct sun, a basement kitchen, a bedroom or office styled in a Scandinavian or coastal scheme, and a bathroom where white limestone-effect LVT is the right alternative to real tile. White is the wrong answer in a small utility room or hallway that takes muddy boots, and in any household with large dogs.
Pairing White With Walls and Cabinets
The single most successful pairing for a white floor is a warm white or putty wall with pale natural wood furniture — Scandinavian by default. The second-best pairing is a deep contrast scheme: navy, forest or charcoal cabinets above a pale white-washed floor, white walls, brass fittings — high-end coastal or hotel feel. The pairing to avoid is true cool white walls above a true cool white floor, which collapses the room visually and makes everything read as “show home unfinished”.
Wear Layer for a White Floor
White floors are second only to black for showing dirt and surface scratches. We strongly recommend stepping up from a 0.3mm wear layer to 0.55mm as the floor of the spec, and to 0.7mm if the floor is going into a kitchen, hallway or any room with regular outdoor traffic. The thicker wear layer holds its appearance longer and is significantly easier to spot-clean.
Glue Down Is the Right Spec for White
White designs benefit hugely from the perfectly flat, joint-free finish that glue down LVT delivers — every imperfection in subfloor preparation telegraphs through a pale surface, and every visible click joint reads as a dirt line in low light. Glue down is the format we specify by default on every white project from the Altrincham showroom. Click LVT is the right answer only where lifting the existing floor is impractical.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does white LVT stain easily?
No, high-quality LVT is highly resistant to stains. The protective wear layer is non-porous, so spills from food, drink, or other common household items can be easily wiped away with a cloth or mop before they have a chance to stain the decorative layer underneath.
Is a white floor difficult to keep clean?
While a white floor will show dirt and debris more easily than a dark floor, it is not difficult to clean. LVT's smooth, non-porous surface makes it incredibly easy to sweep and mop. Regular cleaning is key to maintaining its pristine appearance, but the process itself is very quick and easy.
Will white LVT make my room look too sterile or clinical?
Not at all. The key to a beautiful white floor is in the design details. Choosing a white LVT with a realistic wood grain or subtle stone veining adds texture and warmth. Pairing it with soft furnishings, plants, and natural wood furniture can create a welcoming, cosy, and modern space that feels anything but clinical.
