Description
Karndean Van Gogh Golden Brushed Oak Herringbone Rigid Core is a golden brushed oak luxury vinyl floor supplied as click-fit blocks for a herringbone layout. Part of the Van Gogh Rigid Core range, it brings the look of a Karndean parquet floor together with a 6.5mm waterproof core, a pre-attached acoustic underlay and a click-lock fit that is far simpler than a glue-down herringbone. Golden Brushed Oak is also available as a straight plank. For a fully bonded finish, see Golden Brushed Oak in glue-down Van Gogh.
Van Gogh Rigid Core uses a 5G click-lock system that floats over most existing hard subfloors, so it needs less subfloor preparation than glue-down LVT and suits both DIY and professional installation. The rigid SPC core stays stable underfoot and the pre-attached acoustic underlay helps reduce impact sound between floors.
Because it is 100% waterproof, Golden Brushed Oak Rigid Core suits every room in the home without restriction, including kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and conservatories. It is compatible with wet and electric underfloor heating up to a maximum surface temperature of 27C.
With a 0.55mm wear layer it is well matched to busy homes and light commercial spaces such as small offices or boutiques. For heavier commercial use or the most premium finish, Karndean Art Select steps up to a 0.7mm wear layer.
As a Karndean Approved Retailer, Grosvenor Flooring supplies Van Gogh Rigid Core with a transferable lifetime residential warranty (35 years) and a 15-year commercial warranty. Each pack covers 3.008m2. Fast UK delivery is available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Karndean Van Gogh Golden Brushed Oak Herringbone Rigid Core waterproof?
Yes. Van Gogh Rigid Core is 100% waterproof thanks to its rigid SPC core and K-Guard+ surface, so it can be fitted in any room including kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. Spills and everyday moisture will not damage the floor.
What is the difference between the plank and herringbone versions of Golden Brushed Oak?
The plank version uses 1420.0mm x 225.0mm boards for a classic straight-laid floor. The herringbone version uses 708.0mm x 177.0mm boards engineered for the V pattern. Both share the same 6.5mm core, 0.55mm wear layer and 100% waterproof construction.
How is Van Gogh Rigid Core installed?
It uses a 5G click-lock system and floats over most existing hard subfloors, so there is no glue or adhesive. The rigid core is forgiving over minor unevenness, though the subfloor should still be clean, dry and broadly level. This makes it well suited to renovations and DIY installation.
Does Van Gogh Rigid Core need a separate underlay?
No. It has a pre-attached acoustic underlay, so you do not need to buy a separate underlay. This saves time on installation and helps reduce impact sound between floors.
Can Van Gogh Rigid Core be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. It is compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating, subject to a maximum surface temperature of 27C. Follow Karndean's guidance for warm-up procedures when fitting over underfloor heating.
What warranty does Van Gogh Rigid Core have and is it suitable for commercial use?
It carries a transferable lifetime residential warranty (35 years) and a 15-year commercial warranty when fitted by a Karndean Approved Retailer. With its 0.55mm wear layer it suits busy homes and light commercial spaces such as small offices or boutiques. For heavier commercial use, choose a dedicated commercial product.
