Stone Effect Herringbone LVT

Stone-effect herringbone LVT is one of the most distinctive flooring formats on the market — the architectural feel of a parquet floor, but with the finish of cut stone, slate, marble or terrazzo instead of oak. It is a niche, designer-led look that the premium LVT brands cut specifically as small-format stone tiles intended to be set in a herringbone pattern, with deep embossing, matt finishes and wear layers built for kitchens, bathrooms and high-traffic open-plan ground floors.

At Grosvenor Flooring we cover the full stone-effect herringbone offer with curated picks from Amtico Signature, Karndean Art Select and Project Floors. Browse the collection below or contact us via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or phone for advice. The ranges can be seen laid out in our Altrincham showroom.

What Is Stone Effect Herringbone LVT?

Stone-effect herringbone LVT is luxury vinyl tile cut into small rectangular stone-printed tiles and designed to be laid at right angles in a herringbone parquet pattern. The visual is taken from cut limestone, slate, travertine or terrazzo and printed at high resolution onto a vinyl plank, with the surface embossed in register so the texture lines up with the print. The result is a stone parquet floor that is fully waterproof, dimensionally stable and compatible with underfloor heating — and considerably easier to live with than real cut-stone parquet, which is heavy, cold underfoot and unforgiving on subfloors.

The Stone Effect Herringbone Collections We Stock

Amtico Signature includes the deepest stone design library on the UK market and is the brand we recommend by default for stone parquet projects — 1mm wear layer, 20-year domestic warranty, glue-down spec.

Karndean Art Select includes a curated range of stone tiles in the small formats needed for herringbone patterning, with the Karndean lifetime structural guarantee.

Project Floors is the contract-grade German brand we use for designers, architects and commercial stone parquet specifications.

Stone Herringbone vs Wood Herringbone vs Stone Tile

If you want the parquet pattern but in a wood finish instead, see wood-effect herringbone LVT. If you want stone but in a more conventional large-format square or rectangular tile, see stone-effect tile LVT. If you want the same idea but cut as a chevron, see stone-effect parquet LVT.

Where to Use Stone Effect Herringbone LVT

Stone herringbone is most often specified in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and utility rooms — the rooms where stone makes sense visually and where waterproof performance matters. It also reads beautifully in conservatories.

Underfloor Heating

All ranges are compatible with both wet and electric UFH up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Stone-effect LVT is a strong UFH performer because, unlike real stone, it warms up quickly and feels comfortable underfoot from a cold start. Glue-down installs are recommended for the best heat transfer — see glue down LVT.

Installation Notes

Like wood-effect herringbone, stone-effect herringbone needs to be set out from the centre line of the room and demands an experienced LVT fitter. Mistakes are harder to recover from than with a straight tile lay. Our own teams handle stone parquet installs across Cheshire and South Manchester from the Altrincham showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Stone Effect Herringbone LVT difficult to install myself?

Yes, due to the intricate herringbone pattern, installation is more challenging than with standard LVT planks. It requires careful measurement and precise placement to ensure the pattern is straight and symmetrical. For the best possible result, we highly recommend professional installation.

Does this flooring feel like real stone underfoot?

No, and that is one of its main benefits. While it has the stunning visual of stone, LVT is much softer and warmer to the touch. This makes it a far more comfortable and practical flooring choice for living areas and bedrooms, without sacrificing the luxurious look.

What's the difference between Stone Effect Herringbone LVT and Stone Effect Parquet LVT?

Herringbone is a specific type of parquet pattern where the planks are laid in a zigzag formation. Parquet is a broader term that includes a variety of geometric patterns, such as chevron, basketweave, or square designs. Stone Effect Herringbone LVT refers specifically to this zigzag pattern.
