0.7mm Wear Layer LVT Flooring
A 0.7mm wear layer is the toughest level most homes will ever need. It is designed for the busiest rooms: family kitchens with dogs and children, open-plan ground floors, hallways that take muddy boots and homes that double as a workplace. This collection includes our own GF Glue-Down LVT 0.7mm designs, Karndean Art Select, Amtico Form, Invictus Ultimus, Elements, Nordikka Naturals and Polyflor Expona.
Every floor here is glue-down, so it is fully bonded, waterproof and adds almost no height. For a quieter house, the 0.55mm collection will serve you just as well.
Why Choose 0.7mm?
At 700 microns, a 0.7mm layer is more than twice the depth of 0.3mm and around a quarter deeper than 0.55mm. That margin matters where the floor is under constant pressure: claws on a kitchen floor, stools pulled out from an island dozens of times a day or grit tracked straight in from the garden. It is also a sensible choice if you want the floor to outlast more than one kitchen refit.

- GF Glue-Down LVT 0.7mm: 3mm thick with a lifetime residential warranty, in herringbone and chevron designs such as Borrowdale Grey Oak Herringbone, Patterdale Aged Oak Chevron and Keswick Chestnut Herringbone.
- Karndean Art Select: 3mm, in long planks, stone tiles, herringbone and parquet.
- Amtico Form: 2.5mm, in plank, parquet, chevron and basket weave.
- Invictus Ultimus: 2.5mm, including chevron.
- Elements: 2.5mm, in plank and herringbone.

0.7mm Against 0.55mm and 1.0mm
For most family homes, 0.55mm is enough. Choose 0.7mm when the room is genuinely heavy-use or you want extra margin. Above this level there is only 1.0mm, which in our range means Amtico Signature. Preparation and Underfloor Heating
Glue-down floors need a smooth, dry, level subfloor, which usually means a smoothing compound before fitting. They are also the most efficient vinyl over underfloor heating. Keep the floor surface at or below 27C.
