What Makes Quick-Step Capture Different?

Where most laminate ranges concentrate on classic wood reproductions, Capture is built for design impact. The textures are pronounced and tactile – you feel the grain underfoot as well as see it – and the finishes go well beyond a standard oak look. This is the Quick-Step laminate range for an interior where the floor is a deliberate choice rather than a backdrop: a painted oak in a period hallway, a cracked or patina oak in a characterful living room, a chic walnut in a contemporary scheme. The bevelled edges give every plank clear definition, reinforcing the impression of individual timber boards.

The Quick-Step Capture Design Library

Capture offers one of the broadest design spreads in the Quick-Step laminate range, built mainly around oak in a wide variety of treatments. The brushed-oak family covers Brushed Oak Natural, Warm Natural, Grey, Brown and Beige – subtle, textured everyday tones. The varnished and waxed designs – Natural Varnished Oak, Beige Varnished Oak and Waxed Oak Brown – lean warmer and more traditional. The patina designs, including Soft Patina Oak, Patina Oak Brown, Patina Oak Grey and Cracked Oak Natural, bring a reclaimed, lived-in character.

At the bolder end, the painted-oak designs – Painted Oak White, Painted Oak Black and Painted Oak Rose – are genuine statement floors, while White Premium Oak suits bright, contemporary rooms. Beyond oak, Capture also includes Chic Walnut and Merbau for richer, darker schemes. It is a library deep enough to anchor almost any interior direction.

Quick-Step Capture Specification

Capture features HydroSeal, the water-repellent coating applied to the plank surface and bevels, which prevents water reaching the joints and makes the floor genuinely suitable for kitchens and bathrooms when installed and perimeter-sealed correctly. The Scratch Guard wear layer resists micro-scratches up to ten times better than standard laminate, protecting the finish against pets, children and furniture movement. The water-resistant HDF core gives the plank its stability and impact resistance.

Planks join with the patented Uniclic click system, creating a secure, glueless floating floor. Capture is PEFC certified, confirming the wood fibre is responsibly sourced and it is produced to low VOC-emission standards. The range carries a long domestic warranty of up to 25 years with a separate wet-area warranty – usually around 10 years – when the floor is installed to Quick-Step’s guidelines including correct perimeter sealing.

Capture sits among the premium ranges. Compared with Classic and Impressive, Capture’s distinction is its design-led, heavily textured and painted finishes rather than a difference in core construction – all three share the HydroSeal and Scratch Guard technologies. If you want the deepest realism in a straightforward wood look, Impressive is the natural choice; if you want a solid 12mm board, Impressive Ultra is the step up. Where Quick-Step Capture Works Best

Capture’s HydroSeal surface makes it suitable for any room in the home. In living rooms, hallways and bedrooms its textured and painted finishes are at their most effective – these are the rooms where a design-led floor earns its place. In kitchens and utility rooms the waterproof surface handles spills and splashes confidently. It can also be used in bathrooms when installed strictly to guidelines with sealed perimeters, though as with all laminate it is not suitable for wet rooms or shower enclosures. Its scratch resistance makes it equally at home in high-traffic areas.

Installation

Capture installs as a floating floor using the Uniclic click system over a suitable underlay with no adhesive needed in the field. The click system makes it realistic for a competent DIY installer, but professional installation ensures correct subfloor preparation and – importantly for the wet-area warranty – proper perimeter sealing around the room edges and around fixtures. Capture and Underfloor Heating

Capture is compatible with low-temperature water-based and electric underfloor heating, subject to a maximum surface temperature of 27 degreesC. The correct underlay is needed so heat transfers efficiently and the system should be brought up to temperature gradually after installation. Following Quick-Step’s underfloor heating guidance keeps the warranty valid.

Caring for Quick-Step Capture

Capture is low-maintenance. Sweep or vacuum with a soft-brush attachment to remove grit and damp-mop with a well-wrung mop and a pH-neutral or Quick-Step-recommended laminate cleaner when needed. Avoid steam mops, abrasive cleaners and wax or polish and wipe up spills promptly. Felt pads under furniture and a doormat at entrances protect the textured surface and keep the floor looking new.
