Patterned LVT is the vinyl take on encaustic, Victorian and Moroccan decorative floor tiles — geometric prints, repeating motifs and bold colourwork, cut into a tile format that is fully waterproof, dimensionally stable and warm underfoot. It is the easiest way to bring a statement floor into a kitchen, hallway, bathroom or downstairs WC without the cost, weight and cold of real cement-bodied encaustic tile.

What Is Patterned LVT?
Patterned LVT — sometimes called decorative or encaustic-effect LVT — is a luxury vinyl tile printed with a repeating decorative pattern instead of a wood or stone visual. The print is taken from traditional encaustic, Victorian, Moroccan or art-deco tile designs and reproduced at high resolution onto the vinyl, with a clear PU wear layer over the top. Patterns can be specified as a feature panel — for example a centred design under a kitchen island — or as a wall-to-wall floor covering, depending on the look you are after.

Patterned LVT vs Real Encaustic Tile
Real cement-body encaustic tiles are beautiful but heavy, cold underfoot, demanding on subfloors, expensive to install and porous unless sealed properly. Patterned LVT gives you the same visual at a fraction of the weight, with full waterproofing, full UFH compatibility and a warmth-to-touch that real encaustic cannot match. For a hard-wearing, family-friendly statement floor, LVT is the better answer in nearly every domestic context.
Where to Use Patterned LVT
Patterned LVT is most often specified in kitchens, hallways, downstairs WCs and bathrooms. Use it as a statement on a small footprint — a hallway, a porch, an island zone — and pair it with a plain wood- or stone-effect LVT in the surrounding rooms for the strongest result.
Underfloor Heating
All ranges are compatible with both wet and electric UFH up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Glue-down installs are recommended — see glue down LVT.

Does this flooring require grouting?
No, Pattern Tile LVT does not require traditional grouting. The tiles are designed to fit together tightly, either with a click-and-lock system or a close-fitting glue-down method. This makes the surface seamless, hygienic, and much easier to clean and maintain than traditional tiles with grout lines.
Is Pattern Tile LVT slippery when wet?
No, most LVT products are designed with a slip-resistant surface. Many manufacturers apply a protective coating that provides good grip, even when the floor is wet. This makes it a safe and practical choice for kitchens and bathrooms.
