What is Amtico First?
Amtico First is the most affordable collection in the Amtico residential range, designed to bring genuine LVT quality to customers who may not need the specification level of Spacia, Form or Signature. It sits at a lower price point without compromising on Amtico’s fundamental design standards — every plank and tile in the First range is manufactured at Amtico’s UK factory and benefits from the same design process as the more premium tiers.
The collection features a 0.3mm wear layer, which provides good protection against everyday scuffs and scratches in typical residential conditions. Quantum Guard coating is applied to the surface — the same protective layer used across the Amtico range — which helps resist staining, reduces the effort needed to keep the floor clean and adds long-term resilience. Micro-bevelled edges on many designs enhance the realistic appearance of wood and stone effects.
Amtico First is a glue-down LVT product, requiring professional installation and correct subfloor preparation for the warranty to be validated. Grosvenor Flooring’s fitting teams are trained and approved to install Amtico across all collections, including First.
Where Should Amtico First Be Used?
Amtico First’s 0.3mm wear layer is well suited to lower-traffic residential areas. Bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and home offices are ideal applications — spaces where the floor will see regular but not intense daily use. It is also suitable for kitchens and bathrooms, where its water-resistant construction prevents moisture from penetrating the surface when correctly installed.
For hallways, family rooms, playrooms or any space with consistently heavy foot traffic, we would recommend stepping up to Amtico Spacia (0.55mm wear layer, 20-year warranty) or Amtico Form (0.7mm wear layer, 30-year warranty) for greater long-term durability. Amtico First is not intended for commercial environments.
Amtico First Design Range
The First collection covers a curated selection of wood and stone effects. Wood designs offer warmth and a natural appearance, with tones ranging from pale, bleached finishes to richer, darker oaks. Stone designs provide a clean, contemporary feel suited to modern interiors. Plank formats are available in standard residential sizes, and the micro-bevel detail adds to the authentic look underfoot.
The range is deliberately focused rather than exhaustive — this keeps the choice manageable and ensures each design is well considered rather than filling a catalogue for its own sake.
Warranty and Installation
Amtico First carries a 15-year residential warranty when professionally installed by an Amtico Approved Retail Partner using approved installation methods. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and wear performance under normal residential conditions. As with all Amtico glue-down products, subfloor preparation is critical — the floor must be smooth, level and dry before installation begins.
