About V4 Wood Flooring

V4 Wood Flooring Ltd has been a fixture in UK engineered wood for more than two decades, working out of a Surrey design centre and supplying through a national network of approved retailers. Where some engineered wood brands focus on a single core product extended across a few colours, V4 builds collections around design intent — each range covers a distinct aesthetic territory, with formats and finishes selected to support that look rather than fill out a price ladder.

The result is a catalogue that feels less like an oak flooring range and more like a design library: rustic Alpine boards for traditional and transitional interiors; a broad Deco range with both European Oak and American Black Walnut; the worn, distressed Urban Nature collection in plank and herringbone; the precision-engineered Tundra range with its birch ply core and four formats; and the extra-long Driftwood collection with its calming, weathered finishes. Every V4 floor is engineered for stability, finished with V4’s own oils and lacquers, and backed by a 35-year domestic guarantee when fitted and maintained to V4’s installation guides.

The V4 Range: An Overview

V4 Alpine is V4’s original engineered oak collection — eight rustic-grade European oak planks finished with V4’s own pure oils and lacquers, designed to suit everything from traditional cottages to transitional new-build interiors. V4 Deco is V4’s design-led collection — the broadest colour and format library in the V4 catalogue, available in both wide plank and herringbone. Built with European Oak and American Black Walnut, finished in coloured oils, natural oils or UV-cured lacquer. View the V4 Deco collection.

V4 Urban Nature is V4’s worn-and-distressed range — generously sized oak boards that blend rustic textures and aged surfaces to create a floor with a naturally weathered character. V4 Tundra is the most format-rich part of the V4 catalogue, built on an unusual birch ply core construction for additional dimensional stability and offered in plank, herringbone, chevron and large-format XL herringbone (100 x 500mm). V4 Driftwood is V4’s extra-long board range — slender, elongated European oak planks finished with tactile brushed surfaces and weathered-driftwood lacquers. Why Buy V4 from an Approved Gold Account Retailer?

V4 sells exclusively through its national network of approved retailers, with retailer status awarded across several tiers. Grosvenor Flooring holds V4 Gold Account status — V4’s premium retail tier — which gives our customers three things that buying outside the approved network does not.

First, V4’s 35-year domestic guarantee is only valid when the floor is supplied and fitted (or fitted to V4’s published installation guides) through an approved retailer. Floors sourced from grey-market resellers or fitted outside V4’s guidance are not covered. Second, an approved Gold Account retailer is held to V4’s specification, fitting and aftersales standards — so the advice you receive on subfloor preparation, underfloor heating compatibility, expansion gaps and acclimatisation is V4’s own. Third, you get access to V4’s full live range — including new collections like Urban Nature — rather than a frozen sub-set of older lines.

Where Can V4 Wood Flooring Be Used?

V4 engineered oak is designed for typical UK domestic environments — lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and offices. As with all real-wood flooring, V4 is not recommended for bathrooms, wet rooms, conservatories with significant temperature swings, or any installation directly over an unsuitable subfloor. For wet areas we’d steer you towards luxury vinyl flooring instead, where waterproof and dimensional stability characteristics are built into the product.

V4 and Underfloor Heating

The majority of V4 collections are compatible with water-based underfloor heating systems, subject to V4’s standard rules: surface floor temperature must not exceed 27°C, the system must be commissioned and brought up to operating temperature gradually before the floor is laid, and heat output must be matched to the floor build-up. The Tundra range — with its birch ply core construction — is particularly well-suited to UFH installations because of its enhanced dimensional stability under thermal cycling.
