Muse is the only stone and tile effect range in the Quick-Step laminate collection. While the rest of the range reproduces wood, Muse reproduces slate, concrete, limestone, sandstone, bluestone and terracotta – the colour variation, texture and subtle imperfections of natural stone, captured in a tile-format laminate plank with bevels that define each tile once laid. Its key advantage over the material it imitates is comfort: Muse is warm and forgiving underfoot, where real stone and ceramic tile are cold and hard. It is also far quicker to lay – a click-fit floating floor rather than a tiled, grouted and adhered installation – which makes a stone look achievable without the cost and disruption of genuine tiling.

The lighter stone designs include Limestone, Chalk and Sandstone – soft, calm neutrals for bright rooms. Dusky Bluestone and Fumed Bluestone bring a cooler, more dramatic mid-tone and Terracotta adds a warm, traditional option. Quick-Step Muse Specification

Muse planks are 8mm thick in a tile format with subtle bevels that define each tile once laid. The HydroSeal surface coating repels water and prevents it reaching the joints, making the range well suited to kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms when installed and perimeter-sealed correctly. The Scratch Guard wear layer resists micro-scratches up to ten times better than standard laminate and the range is rated for intensive domestic use. The HDF core gives the plank its stability and impact resistance.

Planks join with the patented Uniclic click system for a fast, glueless floating installation – and some designs allow for different laying patterns, such as cross-laying or half-stone arrangements, for added flexibility. Muse is compatible with underfloor heating and backed by a long domestic warranty with water-resistance cover when installed to Quick-Step’s guidelines.

Where Quick-Step Muse Works Best

Installation

Muse installs as a floating floor using the Uniclic click system over a suitable underlay – considerably quicker and cleaner than laying real stone or ceramic tile with no adhesive or grout. The click system is realistic for a competent DIY installer, though professional fitting ensures correct subfloor preparation, the right underlay and proper perimeter sealing – essential to the water-resistance warranty in kitchens and bathrooms. Muse and Underfloor Heating

Muse is compatible with common embedded underfloor heating systems, both water-based and electric, subject to a maximum surface temperature of 27 degreesC – a natural pairing, since underfloor heating answers the one drawback a stone-look floor might otherwise have. An underlay with suitable thermal resistance lets heat through efficiently and the system should be brought up to temperature gradually after installation.

Caring for Quick-Step Muse

Muse is low-maintenance. Sweep or vacuum with a soft-brush attachment to lift grit and damp-mop with a well-wrung mop and a pH-neutral or Quick-Step-recommended laminate cleaner when needed. Avoid steam mops, abrasive cleaners, wax and polish and standing water. Felt pads under furniture and a doormat at entrances keep the floor looking new.
