Grosvenor Flooring is a Karndean Retail Partner at 82 Stamford New Road, Altrincham. Karndean is on display in our 24/7 Smart Showroom and we supply and fit all six current ranges across Altrincham, Hale, Timperley, Sale and the rest of South Manchester and Cheshire.

Where to Buy Karndean in Altrincham

The first decision with Karndean is not the colour but the format: glue-down or rigid core. This guide starts there.

Glue-Down or Rigid Core?

Glue-down Karndean is bonded to a smooth, prepared subfloor. It feels solid, sounds quiet and allows herringbone, parquet and design strips. It is the usual pick for kitchens, halls and rooms with underfloor heating.

Rigid core planks click together over an underlay. They go down faster, need less preparation and cope with small dips in the floor, which suits bedrooms, landings and quick refits.

Samples, Delivery and Pricing

Karndean samples are free to pick up from our Altrincham showroom. They are not posted out and can’t be ordered online. Delivery of your floor is free across the UK. Karndean is priced by quote, so send us an enquiry with your room sizes and the range you like and we will come back with a written price.

Seeing Karndean in Altrincham

The showroom is open 24/7 and the door code arrives straight away when you request it. Amtico, Invictus, Project Floors and our GF range are on display alongside Karndean. That lets you set Van Gogh against Amtico Spacia, or Knight Tile against Amtico First, in the same light. There is roadside parking nearby and car parks within a short walk.

Karndean or Amtico?

Karndean is strong on value and realistic woods. Amtico has the larger design library and more laying patterns. As a Retail Partner for both, we have no reason to push one over the other. Our Amtico vs Karndean guide compares them. Our guide to finding a Karndean retailer explains what to check before you buy.

Supply and Fit

Before any glue-down floor goes in, Blake Williams, our Operations Director, checks the subfloor and works out whether it needs ply or levelling. He measures each room and gives you a written quote. A regular team of fitters we know and trust then lays the floor. There is more on our Karndean floor fitter page.

We fit Karndean in Altrincham, Hale, Timperley, Sale, Didsbury and Chorlton.

GF Alternatives to Karndean

If the budget is tight, our GF range matches popular Karndean looks for less. See the Van Gogh, Knight Tile and Art Select alternatives.
