Frequently Asked Questions

What stone looks does stone herringbone LVT come in?

Stone herringbone is available in the main natural-stone visuals: limestone, slate, travertine, marble and terrazzo, cut as small rectangular tiles for the herringbone pattern. The print is registered to a deeply embossed surface so the texture lines up with the design, giving a convincing cut-stone parquet look.

Is stone effect herringbone LVT waterproof for bathrooms and kitchens?

Yes. The vinyl tile does not absorb water and fitted glue-down with a sealed perimeter it makes a fully waterproof floor, which is why stone herringbone suits kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways. It is warmer and more comfortable underfoot than real stone parquet and pairs very well with underfloor heating.

Is Stone Effect Herringbone LVT difficult to install myself?

It is not a DIY pattern. Like wood herringbone it has to be set out from the centre line of the room and any error in the first run compounds across the floor, so mistakes are harder to recover from than a straight tile lay. We strongly recommend an experienced LVT fitter and our own teams handle stone parquet installs across Cheshire and South Manchester.

Does this flooring feel like real stone underfoot?

It looks like cut stone thanks to high-resolution printing and registered embossing, but it feels warmer and more comfortable than real stone, which is cold and hard. It also warms up quickly over underfloor heating from a cold start, where real stone is slow to heat, making it far easier to live with day to day.

What is the difference between Stone Effect Herringbone and Stone Effect Parquet LVT?

Both use small stone-look tiles in a parquet arrangement. Herringbone lays the tiles at right angles to each other in the classic zig-zag; parquet and chevron use different angles and blocks for a distinct pattern. The look is a design choice; the tiles, wear layers and performance are the same and we can show both laid out in the Altrincham showroom.
