Best LVT Flooring in the UK (2026 Guide)

Best LVT Flooring in the UK — 2026 Guide

Luxury vinyl tile has become the most popular flooring choice in British homes, and for good reason. It handles moisture, sits comfortably over underfloor heating, and the best ranges now look almost indistinguishable from the real wood and stone they replicate. But with dozens of brands on the UK market — each with multiple ranges, wear layers, and formats — working out which LVT flooring is genuinely worth your money takes some digging.

This guide breaks down every major LVT brand we stock at Grosvenor Flooring, with honest spec comparisons and real-world recommendations. We are not a faceless online warehouse — we are a specialist flooring retailer based in Altrincham, Cheshire, and every product listed here is on display in our 24/7 Smart Showroom at 82 Stamford New Road, Altrincham, WA14 1BS. You can visit any time, day or night, to see and walk on these floors before you commit.

What Makes One LVT Better Than Another?

Before comparing brands, it helps to understand the three specifications that separate a premium LVT from a budget one.

Wear layer is the transparent protective coating on the surface of the plank or tile. It is measured in millimetres and directly determines how long the floor will last under foot traffic. A 0.3mm wear layer suits bedrooms and low-traffic rooms. A 0.55mm wear layer handles busy hallways, kitchens, and open-plan living spaces. At the top end, a 0.7mm or 1.0mm wear layer is specified for heavy commercial use or homes where you want the floor to outlast the mortgage.

Overall thickness affects underfoot feel, sound absorption, and how forgiving the floor is over minor subfloor imperfections. Thinner 2mm and 2.5mm dryback products need a perfectly smooth subfloor. Thicker 5.5mm and 6.5mm rigid-core click products are more forgiving and often include built-in underlay.

Format determines how the floor is installed. Glue-down (dryback) LVT is bonded directly to the subfloor with adhesive — it produces the thinnest, most stable result and is the professional installer’s first choice. Click LVT (usually rigid-core SPC) snaps together without adhesive, making it faster to fit and suitable for confident DIYers. Loose-lay LVT sits under its own weight with no fixings, useful for rental properties or temporary installations.

Best Premium LVT — For Homes Where Quality Comes First

If budget is secondary to longevity and design, two UK brands dominate the premium tier.

Amtico Signature — The Flagship

Amtico Signature is the single best-specified domestic LVT available in the UK. At 2.5mm thick with a 1.0mm wear layer, almost half the product is pure protective surface. The design library is enormous — hundreds of wood, stone, and abstract patterns that can be combined into bespoke laying patterns including borders, feature strips, and motifs. Amtico manufacture in the UK at their Coventry factory, which means consistent quality control and shorter lead times than imported alternatives.

Signature is glue-down only, so professional installation is essential. The result is a floor with zero flex, no hollow sound underfoot, and a lifespan that comfortably exceeds 25 years in a busy family home. For kitchens, hallways, and open-plan ground floors where the floor takes daily punishment, nothing on the UK market matches the Signature specification.

Amtico Form

Amtico Form sits one step below Signature at 2.5mm thick with a 0.7mm wear layer. The design range is more focused — predominantly wood effects with a smaller but carefully curated selection. It is a strong choice if you want Amtico build quality and UK manufacturing but do not need the extreme wear layer of Signature or its bespoke design options.

Karndean Art Select

Karndean Art Select is Karndean’s premium range at 3mm thick. The stand-out feature is the hand-crafted surface texturing — particularly on the wood-effect planks, where the embossed grain follows the printed pattern (registered emboss) to create a remarkably realistic feel underfoot. Art Select also includes some of the best stone-effect tiles on the market, with bevelled edges and varied surface finishes that replicate real limestone and travertine convincingly. Like all Karndean dryback, it is glue-down only.

Karndean Van Gogh

Karndean Van Gogh is another 3mm dryback range from Karndean, offering a wide selection of wood-effect planks at a slightly lower price point than Art Select. The designs are warmer and more traditional, making it a popular choice for living rooms and bedrooms where you want the look of real oak, walnut, or reclaimed timber without the maintenance demands of natural wood.

Best Mid-Range LVT — Performance Without the Premium Price

The mid-range is where most buyers end up, and where the UK market offers the most choice. These ranges deliver genuine durability with wear layers of 0.3mm to 0.55mm, at price points well below the premium tier.

Amtico Spacia

Amtico Spacia is Amtico’s most popular range by volume. At 2.5mm thick with a 0.3mm wear layer, it carries the same UK manufacturing pedigree as Signature at a considerably lower cost. The design range covers realistic wood planks and stone tiles, and the quality of the print layer is noticeably better than most competitors at this wear-layer level. For bedrooms, spare rooms, and lighter-traffic living spaces, Spacia offers an Amtico floor at a mid-range budget.

Nordikka Original

Nordikka Original is a 2.5mm glue-down LVT with a 0.55mm wear layer — meaning it actually out-specs Amtico Spacia on durability while costing significantly less. The Scandinavian-inspired designs lean towards clean, contemporary wood effects with muted tones that suit modern interiors. Nordikka is one of our checkout-enabled brands, so you can order online and have up to five free samples delivered to your door before committing.

Nordikka Select

Nordikka Select steps up from Original with a 0.55mm wear layer in the glue-down format, offering a broader selection of designs for homes that need both durability and visual range. Available in both dryback and click SPC formats, it gives you flexibility depending on your subfloor and installation preference.

Textures LVT

Textures LVT is a glue-down range designed with professional installers in mind. The emphasis is on surface realism — deep-textured wood effects with registered emboss that feels genuinely tactile underfoot. Available with online checkout and our free sample service, Textures is a strong contender if you want an installer-grade glue-down product without the wait times and price premium associated with the bigger brand names.

Brampton Chase

Brampton Chase offers three distinct sub-ranges. Brampton Chase Classics covers traditional wood and stone looks. Brampton Chase Metro leans towards contemporary urban patterns. Brampton Chase Studio Designs pushes into more creative territory with abstract and decorative formats. The range provides solid mid-market options across different interior styles.

Polyflor Camaro

Polyflor Camaro is a 2mm dryback LVT with a 0.3mm wear layer and Polyflor’s PUR (polyurethane reinforcement) surface treatment, which means easier ongoing maintenance — no polish or sealant needed. Polyflor are a Manchester-based UK manufacturer with decades of commercial flooring experience, and that heritage shows in Camaro’s consistent quality. For a full breakdown, read our Polyflor Camaro range review. They also offer Polyflor Camaro Rigid Core — a 5.5mm click SPC version with the same designs for rooms where glue-down is not practical.

Invictus

Invictus is a Belgian-made LVT brand with a particularly strong click SPC offering. Invictus Maximus is their premium dryback range. Invictus Maximus Click delivers the same designs in a 4mm rigid-core format that is fast to install and works well over underfloor heating. Invictus Primus and Invictus Ultimus extend the range across different price points and specifications.

Best Entry-Level LVT — Affordable Floors That Still Perform

Entry-level does not mean disposable. These ranges use 0.3mm wear layers at thinner overall gauges, making them ideal for bedrooms, guest rooms, and lighter-traffic areas where a 25-year commercial-grade spec is unnecessary.

Amtico First

Amtico First is Amtico’s entry point at 2mm thick with a 0.3mm wear layer. You still get UK manufacturing and the Amtico design quality, just in a thinner format. It is a sensible choice for bedrooms and low-traffic rooms where you want the Amtico name without the full Signature investment.

Karndean Knight Tile

Karndean Knight Tile matches Amtico First at 2mm thick with a 0.3mm wear layer in the dryback format. The wood and stone designs are well executed, and Knight Tile has become one of Karndean’s most widely specified residential ranges. If you need a click format, Karndean Knight Tile Rigid Core delivers the same designs in a 4.5mm rigid-core SPC plank.

Nordikka Living

Nordikka Living is a 2mm glue-down LVT with a 0.3mm wear layer. Comparable in specification to Amtico First and Knight Tile, but available at a sharper price point with online checkout and free samples. A practical option for bedrooms and rooms with lighter footfall where you want a quality floor without overspending.

Elements LVT

Elements LVT is another accessible option with online checkout and sample service available. The range focuses on popular wood-effect designs at a competitive price, making it a straightforward choice for buyers furnishing multiple rooms on a budget.

Best Click and SPC LVT — For Easy Installation

Rigid-core click LVT (often called SPC — stone polymer composite) has transformed the market. These products snap together without glue, include built-in underlay, and can often be fitted over existing hard floors. They are thicker and more forgiving over imperfect subfloors than traditional glue-down LVT.

GF SPC Flooring

Our own GF SPC Flooring range is available in two tiers: 5mm with a 0.5mm wear layer from £26.99/m², and 6.5mm with a 0.5mm wear layer from £30.99/m². Both include built-in underlay, click installation, a 25-year guarantee, and full compatibility with underfloor heating. The designs are named after Cotswold villages — Kingham, Blenheim, Burford, Bourton, and others — and are available in both plank and herringbone formats. At these prices, with a 0.5mm wear layer, GF LVT represents some of the best value click LVT currently available in the UK.

Nordikka Click SPC and Herringbone

Nordikka Click SPC delivers the same Scandinavian design language as the dryback ranges in a rigid-core click format. For herringbone lovers, Bodo Herringbone SPC is a click-fit herringbone that avoids the complexity and cost of gluing individual herringbone planks — a significant time and labour saving on installation.

Karndean Rigid Core

Karndean Knight Tile Rigid Core and Karndean Van Gogh Rigid Core bring Karndean’s dryback designs into a click SPC format. Both are 4–4.5mm thick, making them thinner than some SPC competitors, but the Karndean design quality and surface texturing remain excellent.

Amtico Click Smart

Amtico Click Smart is Amtico’s entry into the click market. It is worth considering if you want Amtico’s design range without committing to a glue-down installation, though dryback remains the format where Amtico truly excels.

Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl

Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl is a well-established click SPC range from one of Europe’s largest flooring manufacturers. Sub-ranges include Alpha Bloom, Alpha Blos, Alpha Ciro, Alpha Illume, and Alpha Oro, spanning different design styles and price points. Quick-Step’s Uniclic click system is one of the easiest to install, making these a popular DIY choice.

COREtec

COREtec pioneered rigid-core LVT and remains a strong option. The COREtec Essentials and COREtec Naturals sub-ranges cover contemporary and traditional aesthetics respectively.

Moduleo

Moduleo offers the Moduleo LayRed and Moduleo Roots collections, both in click SPC format. LayRed uses a built-in ceramic bead underlay for enhanced sound reduction and thermal insulation.

Best Herringbone LVT

Herringbone has moved from a niche request to one of the most popular laying patterns in UK homes. Several brands now offer purpose-made herringbone planks in both dryback and click formats.

In wood-effect herringbone LVT, the glue-down options include Amtico Signature and Art Select (both with bespoke herringbone laying patterns), Nordikka Tromso Herringbone LVT for a Scandi aesthetic, and Project Floors Herringbone for a commercial-grade finish. For click herringbone, Bodo Herringbone SPC and GF SPC Herringbone deliver the pattern without the complexity of individual glue-down pieces.

Stone-effect herringbone is a newer trend, offering marble, travertine, and concrete patterns in a herringbone layout. Stone-effect tiles and stone-effect parquet are also available for those who prefer a tile or mixed-pattern floor.

Best LVT by Room

Kitchens

Kitchens need moisture resistance, a durable wear layer, and a surface that cleans easily. The best options are glue-down products with a 0.55mm+ wear layer: Amtico Signature (1.0mm), Amtico Form (0.7mm), Nordikka Original (0.55mm), or Textures. For click SPC, GF SPC at 6.5mm handles kitchen spills comfortably. Browse our full kitchen LVT collection.

Bathrooms

LVT is fully waterproof, making it an excellent alternative to ceramic tiles in bathrooms. Glue-down LVT with a fully bonded installation is the safest option in wet rooms and family bathrooms — water cannot seep beneath the floor. Click SPC works in cloakrooms and en-suites with lighter water exposure. Avoid loose-lay in any wet environment.

Hallways

Hallway LVT takes the highest footfall in the house. Choose a 0.55mm wear layer minimum. Amtico Signature, Karndean Art Select, and Nordikka Original all handle hallway traffic without issue. Herringbone patterns work particularly well in hallways, creating a sense of length and drawing the eye through the space.

Living Rooms and Bedrooms

For living rooms, the full range is open to you — from premium Signature down to entry-level Knight Tile. Choose based on how much traffic the room gets and how many years you want the floor to last. Bedrooms are the lowest-traffic rooms in the house, so a 0.3mm wear layer is perfectly adequate. Amtico First, Knight Tile, Nordikka Living, or Elements all deliver here without overspending.

Conservatories and Utility Rooms

Conservatory LVT must handle temperature swings and direct sunlight. All the LVT brands we stock are rated for underfloor heating, which also means they tolerate the thermal cycling of a south-facing conservatory. Utility room LVT sees water from washing machines and muddy footwear — glue-down with a 0.55mm wear layer is the practical choice.

Specialist and Commercial LVT

For commercial projects, landlord properties, and spaces with heavier demands, several ranges are worth considering.

Project Floors is a German-made commercial-grade LVT range with wood plank, herringbone, and chevron formats. Designed for retail, hospitality, and office environments, it offers commercial-grade wear resistance at sensible prices.

Polyflor Expona Commercial, Expona Design, Expona Control (slip-resistant), and Expona Bevel Line cover the full spectrum of commercial applications from offices to care homes. Polyflor Colonia and Polyflor Affinity 255 extend the Polyflor range into residential and light-commercial territory.

One Flor is a range we are one of very few UK retailers to stock. Harvey Maria offers distinctive patterned and coloured designs through the Harvey Maria M Series, appealing to buyers who want something different from standard wood and stone effects.

How to Choose — A Quick Decision Framework

If you know your room and your budget, the decision simplifies quickly. For high-traffic rooms where you want a floor that will last decades, invest in a 0.55mm+ wear-layer glue-down product — Amtico Signature, Amtico Form, Karndean Art Select, or Nordikka Original. For bedrooms and lighter-traffic spaces, a 0.3mm wear layer from Amtico First, Karndean Knight Tile, Nordikka Living, or Elements keeps costs down without sacrificing quality. For easy installation without a professional fitter, choose click SPC — GF SPC, Nordikka Click SPC, Quick-Step Alpha, or COREtec.

If you are furnishing an entire house, consider mixing formats. A glue-down Amtico or Karndean in the hallway and kitchen where durability matters most, with a click SPC in bedrooms and utility rooms where speed of installation and budget are the priorities. The colour palettes across brands are broad enough to coordinate across the whole home.
