1. What is LVT?
   Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is a high-performance, multi-layered flooring designed to replicate the natural beauty of wood and stone. All the ranges in this showroom are suitable for a domestic environment and the majority are suitable for a commercial environment as well.
2. What is the size of the planks or tiles?
   Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) comes in different sizes of planks and tiles to imitate the look of natural materials, making it significantly different from vinyl sheet or lino that comes in one piece. Each plank or tile is typically 2.0–2.5mm thick depending on the range.
3. What is a wear layer or surface guard?
   Many LVT products include a protective surface treatment such as a PU coating or similar technology, sometimes referred to generically as a surface guard or protective top layer. This enhances resistance to scratches, scuffs and stains while making cleaning even easier. Wear layers range from 0.3–1mm depending on the range.
4. Is LVT scratch resistant?
   LVT is scratch resistant but not scratch proof. It significantly reduces the risk of scratching compared with natural materials such as wood and stone.
5. Is LVT waterproof?
   Yes, LVT is fully waterproof, making it an excellent choice for moisture-prone areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and entranceways. Its water-resistant properties help prevent warping, swelling or lifting when exposed to spills or damp environments.
6. Does LVT resist dents and indentations?
   LVT is designed to resist indentations and pressure marks thanks to its rigid construction and durable wear layers.
7. Is LVT easy to clean and maintain?
   Yes. LVT requires minimal maintenance. Regular sweeping or vacuuming and occasional mopping with a pH-neutral cleaner is usually sufficient. Steam cleaning is not recommended.
8. Is LVT hygienic?
   LVT has a non-porous surface that helps prevent the build-up of bacteria, mould and allergens, making it a hygienic flooring choice, especially in homes with children or allergy sufferers.
9. Is LVT suitable for homes with pets and children?
   Absolutely. LVT is designed to handle the demands of busy homes. It is resistant to scratches, easy to clean after accidents or spills and comfortable underfoot for both children and pets.
10. Is LVT quiet to walk on?
    LVT provides excellent acoustic performance. It reduces footfall noise compared with many other hard floors, making it suitable for multi-level homes and apartment living.
11. Is LVT environmentally friendly?
    Many LVT products are made with low-VOC materials and phthalate-free components. Some are recyclable and manufactured using more sustainable processes. If this is important to you, it is always worth checking the environmental credentials of the specific product range.
12. Does LVT come with a guarantee?
    Most quality LVT floors are backed by warranties that range from 10 years to a lifetime depending on the product and whether it is installed in a residential or commercial setting.
13. What installation method is suited to my requirements, glue down or click?
    Everything that you see in this showroom is available in glue down, and this method is recommended if you require design detail such as borders. Glue down requires subfloor preparation which broadly means that if the subfloor is wooden, it usually requires ply boarding over and a smoothing compound applied on top. If it is concrete, it usually requires a smoothing compound applied on top. Some products are also available in click and are usually indicated on the sample. This installation method is suitable in some instances.
14. Can I install LVT myself?
    Some formats of LVT such as click-lock systems are suitable for DIY installation. However, glue-down versions may require a professional installer to ensure a smooth and lasting result.
15. Can LVT fade in sunlight?
    LVT has UV-resistant properties built into the wear layer, but some fading may occur over time with prolonged direct sunlight. Using blinds, curtains or UV window film can help minimise this.
16. How do I choose the right LVT for my home?
