What Makes Amtico Click Smart Different?

All other Amtico residential collections — First, Spacia, Form and Signature — are glue-down LVT products, permanently adhered to the subfloor using specialist adhesives. Amtico Click Smart takes a different approach: it uses a click-locking system to connect planks and tiles together at the edges, creating a floating floor that is not bonded to the subfloor.

This has significant practical implications. Installation is faster, less messy and more forgiving. There is no adhesive to apply or cure, no risk of adhesive incompatibility with the subfloor and no requirement for the level of subfloor preparation that glue-down products demand. The floor can also be lifted and repositioned more easily, which is a consideration for rental properties or temporary installations.

The rigid core SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) construction is central to Click Smart’s performance. The rigid core provides excellent dimensional stability — meaning the floor is less susceptible to expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes than traditional flexible LVT. It also bridges minor subfloor imperfections better than glue-down products, which require a very smooth and level substrate for best results.

The integrated acoustic underlay layer, built into every plank and tile, provides underfoot cushioning and reduces impact sound transmission — particularly useful in upper-floor rooms or open-plan homes.

Amtico Click Smart Specification

Amtico Click Smart features a 0.55mm wear layer — the same as Amtico Spacia — which provides solid heavy residential protection against scratches, scuffs and daily wear. The 20-year domestic warranty is consistent with Spacia and suitable for busy family homes. The product is 100% waterproof throughout its construction, making it appropriate for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms without restriction.

The design range covers realistic wood and stone effects, produced to Amtico’s standard of visual quality. Surface embossing adds texture to the designs for a more convincing appearance, and the range includes both plank and tile formats.

Where Can Amtico Click Smart Be Used?

Thanks to its 100% waterproof construction and floating installation system, Amtico Click Smart is suitable for virtually any room in the home. Living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and conservatories (subject to temperature guidelines) are all appropriate applications.

The click system makes it particularly well suited to renovation projects where an existing floor is being replaced with minimal disruption, rooms on upper floors where a glue-down product is not appropriate, or properties where the floor may need to be lifted in the future.

Click Smart vs Glue-Down Amtico

The choice between Amtico Click Smart and a glue-down range (Spacia, Form or Signature) largely comes down to the project type and installation preference rather than quality.

Glue-down LVT, when correctly installed, produces a seamless, fully bonded result with no risk of movement at the edges or joints. It typically provides a quieter, more solid feel underfoot and is the preferred specification for professional interior designers working on premium projects. It is also the only option if you want to access Amtico Form or Signature, as neither is available in a click format.

Click Smart is the better choice for renovation projects, faster turnarounds, rooms where floating floor installation is preferred, or situations where the floor may need to be lifted at some point in the future. The built-in underlay also simplifies the specification by removing the need for a separate underlay product.

Underfloor Heating

Amtico Click Smart is compatible with most wet underfloor heating systems, subject to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Always follow Amtico’s installation guidelines when fitting over underfloor heating. Note that electric underfloor heating compatibility should be confirmed with the specific system manufacturer.
