GF SPC Flooring

GF SPC Flooring is the flagship rigid-core sub-collection within our own-brand GF LVT range — a stone polymer composite click LVT collection built around a stable mineral core, fully waterproof, engineered for fast click installation over most existing hard floors, and named after the Cotswold villages we have been delivering to for years. Every product is buy-online with full pricing displayed, and we offer up to 5 free samples on every order.

SPC stands for Stone Polymer Composite — a rigid mineral-loaded core that gives the board its dimensional stability, point-load resistance and waterproof performance. It is the format most premium LVT brands have moved to for their renovation and click ranges, and the GF SPC collection is built to give you that same level of spec at a sharper price by working directly with the factories rather than through a national distributor.

About GF SPC Flooring

SPC has become the default rigid-core LVT format in the UK for renovation projects and busy family homes — and for good reason. The mineral-loaded core means the board does not move with temperature like older click LVTs sometimes did, the surface is fully waterproof, and the click profile lets a competent fitter lay an SPC floor over an existing hard subfloor (tiles, concrete, vinyl, even old laminate, subject to the usual flatness checks) without lifting and re-screeding. That makes SPC particularly well suited to kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways, where the alternative would be lifting tiles or pouring a new screed.

The GF SPC range is built directly with European factories who specialise in rigid-core LVT. Every product is fully waterproof, suitable for use over wet and electric underfloor heating, and finished with a hard-wearing wear layer engineered for real-world family use.

Designs in the Collection

GF SPC designs are named after Cotswold villages and include Kingham, Blenheim, Burford, Campden, Daylesford, Bourton, Stow, Norton, Lygon, Broadway, Farncombe and Estelle. The collection covers natural oak tones, smoked and brushed effects, paler whitewashed finishes and warmer mid-browns — designed to suit kitchens and open-plan layouts as well as smaller bathrooms and utility rooms. Why SPC Rather Than a Glue-Down LVT?

The choice between SPC and a traditional glue-down LVT comes down to two things: the subfloor and the project. Glue-down LVT (think Amtico Signature, Karndean Knight Tile glue-down) is the most stable, longest-lasting, quietest-underfoot LVT format, and is the default choice for new-build, whole-house projects and any room where the subfloor is being prepared from scratch. SPC click is the right choice for renovations where you want to install a new floor over what is already there with minimal disruption, for second-fix work where the kitchen or bathroom is already fitted, and for buyers who want a fast, clean installation without the drying time, mess and skill required for a glue-down floor. The GF range covers both: GF SPC for click installation, and the wider GF LVT collection for other formats.

Where to Use GF SPC

GF SPC is fully waterproof and suitable in any room of the home — including kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways, lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms. It is also a popular choice for conservatories where temperature swings can be hard on less stable floor formats.

Underfloor Heating

The GF SPC range is compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating, subject to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C and standard installation guidelines. Always follow the supplied installation instructions to preserve performance and warranty cover.

Installation Notes

SPC click is one of the more forgiving LVT formats to install, but it still rewards a properly prepared subfloor — flatness matters more with rigid-core click than with glue-down. We recommend allowing the boards to acclimatise in the room for 24 hours before installation, checking subfloor flatness against the supplied tolerance, and using the click profile as designed rather than over-forcing joints. For customers in the North West, our own fitting teams handle GF SPC installations regularly. For more on installing LVT, see our blog installation guide for LVT flooring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes SPC flooring different from standard LVT?

The main difference is the core; SPC has a Stone Plastic Composite rigid core which makes it much harder and more stable than the flexible PVC core of standard LVT.

Is GF SPC flooring really 100% waterproof?

Yes, the materials used in SPC do not absorb water, making it entirely suitable for areas like bathrooms and kitchens where spills are frequent

Can I use SPC flooring with underfloor heating?

Absolutely. SPC is highly compatible with underfloor heating systems because it effectively transfers heat and remains stable during temperature changes

How do I clean and maintain my SPC floor?

Maintenance is easy; simply sweep or vacuum regularly to remove grit and use a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner to keep the surface looking pristine

Why should I choose professional installation for SPC?

Professional installation ensures the subfloor is perfectly flat, which is essential for a rigid core floor to prevent the click-joints from failing over time
