Workshop 55 is the higher-specification half of the One Flor catalogue. The 0.55mm wear layer is around 80% thicker than the residential 0.30mm layer used in Home 30, and that extra material makes a meaningful difference to how the floor handles the wear patterns that build up in busy, high-use spaces — trolleys and chairs on castors, hard footwear, pet claws, and the repeated foot traffic that concentrates around door thresholds, kitchen islands, reception desks and stair landings. The 0.55mm specification is the threshold above which LVT is generally accepted for light commercial use in the UK, which is why Workshop 55 is the right choice for small retail, hospitality and home-office environments alongside the heavier end of residential.

Like Home 30, Workshop 55 is fully waterproof, anti-slip, low-VOC, phthalate-free and 100% recyclable. The surface is finished with the same PUR Ecoprotec™ treatment, which builds scuff, scratch and stain resistance into the product at manufacture. Workshop 55’s decors are embossed-in-register — meaning the surface texture follows the printed grain or stone pattern beneath it — so the floor reads as convincingly as the wood, stone or concrete reference it is drawn from, close up as well as at a distance. Workshop 55’s 42 decors sit within the same visual language as Home 30, but the collection has its own identity — more textured, more characterful, and in places more industrial. The wood references span subtle pale oaks through to weathered, smoked and aged palettes, alongside raw oak and cerused oak tones that suit heritage conversions and design-led commercial interiors. The industrial references cover classic concrete in multiple grey and brown tones, oxidised and metal-effect concretes, and terrazzo tiles. Herringbone formats are available across the range, and Workshop 55 additionally offers chevron installation patterns that Home 30 does not carry — a useful differentiator for feature-floor commercial interiors and statement residential installations.

Workshop 55 Format Options

Workshop 55 is offered in two installation systems and two plank sizes, giving four practical configurations for different subfloors and project types.

Glue-down (dryback) is a thinner, permanently bonded installation in which each plank or tile is glued directly to a prepared subfloor. Glue-down is the preferred specification in most light commercial installations because it produces the most stable, quietest floor with no air gap beneath the product — which matters where chairs, trolleys and rolling loads are in daily use. Glue-down is also the required format for chevron installation in Workshop 55.

Rigid-core click is a thicker, floating installation in which the planks or tiles click together over a suitable underlay. Click is the right specification for renovation projects, for installations over an existing floor that you want to avoid lifting, or for projects where the installation needs to be reversible (for example, rented commercial premises).

Standard and extra-wide (XL) plank sizes are available across both installation systems. Standard plank sizes suit most rooms well; XL plank sizes come into their own in larger open-plan residential, retail and hospitality spaces, where fewer visible joints read as a more contemporary, cohesive surface.

One Flor Workshop 55 and Underfloor Heating

Workshop 55 is compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating systems, subject to a 27°C maximum surface temperature. The glue-down (dryback) formats transfer heat particularly efficiently because the floor is bonded directly to the subfloor, with no air gap to cross; the rigid-core click formats are also UFH-compatible but require a suitable underlay rated for underfloor heating. Bring surface temperature up gradually during commissioning, and follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions in full to preserve performance.
