Stone Effect Tile LVT

Stone-effect tile LVT is the most practical way to bring the look of slate, limestone, travertine, marble or terrazzo into a modern home. Each large-format tile is printed and embossed to mimic the surface of cut stone, then finished with a tough PU wear layer that handles kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and underfloor heating better than any real stone tile of comparable cost. It is warmer underfoot than real stone, lighter on subfloors, faster to install and dramatically more comfortable to live with day-to-day.

At Grosvenor Flooring we cover the stone-effect tile category with the deep design libraries of Amtico Signature, Amtico Spacia, Karndean Art Select, Karndean Knight Tile, Invictus Maximus and Project Floors.

What Is Stone Effect Tile LVT?

Stone-effect tile LVT is a luxury vinyl tile cut to a large square or rectangular tile format and printed with a high-resolution stone visual — slate, limestone, travertine, marble, sandstone or terrazzo. The print is registered to a deeply embossed surface so the texture lines up with the design, and the whole tile is finished with a clear PU wear layer typically 0.55mm to 1mm thick. Sold either as glue-down dryback tiles or as rigid-core click tiles, depending on the range and the project.

The Stone Effect Tile Collections We Stock

Amtico Signature has the deepest stone tile library on the UK market — limestone, slate, travertine, marble and terrazzo, all in 1mm wear-layer glue-down spec.

Amtico Spacia covers the same effects at a more accessible price point.

Karndean Art Select and Karndean Knight Tile are the two Karndean glue-down stone tile ranges, both with the Karndean structural guarantee. Click versions are available in Knight Tile Rigid Core.

Invictus Maximus is the heavy-spec European stone tile range we use on contract jobs.

Project Floors is the contract-grade German option for designers and architects.

Stone LVT vs Real Stone Tile

Real stone tile is heavy, cold underfoot, demanding on subfloors and unforgiving on installation. Stone-effect LVT gives you the same visual at a fraction of the weight, with full waterproofing, full UFH compatibility and a warmth-to-touch that real stone simply cannot match. For most domestic projects — and a great many commercial ones — stone-effect LVT is the more practical answer.

Where to Use Stone Effect Tile LVT

Stone tile LVT is most often specified in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, utility rooms and conservatories — anywhere stone makes sense visually and where waterproof performance matters.

Underfloor Heating

All ranges are compatible with both wet and electric UFH up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Glue-down installs deliver the best heat transfer — see glue down LVT.

Installation Notes

Stone tile LVT needs a flat, primed subfloor and an experienced fitter — large-format tiles are unforgiving of subfloor undulations. Our own teams handle stone-effect LVT installs across Cheshire and South Manchester from the Altrincham showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is stone effect LVT cold underfoot like real stone?

No, one of the main advantages of LVT is its warmth. Unlike natural stone or ceramic tiles which can feel cold, LVT has a warmer temperature and a softer, more comfortable feel underfoot, making it ideal for living spaces and bedrooms.

Does LVT require grouting like ceramic tiles?

No, LVT does not require traditional grouting. The tiles are designed to fit together tightly, either with a click-and-lock system or a close-fitting glue-down method. However, some LVT products have a 'grout line' effect printed on them, and specialist grout strips can be used to achieve a more authentic look if desired.

Can stone effect LVT be used in a bathroom or kitchen?

Yes, it is an excellent choice for bathrooms, kitchens, and other moisture-prone areas. LVT is highly water-resistant and easy to clean, so spills and splashes are no problem. This makes it a hygienic and durable flooring option for these busy rooms.
