Wood Effect Parquet LVT
Wood-effect parquet LVT gives you the small-format, designer parquet look — herringbone and chevron — in a luxury vinyl tile that handles kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and underfloor heating without any of the seasonal movement of solid timber. The premium LVT brands cut and finish the planks specifically for parquet patterning, with mitred ends, deep embossing and wear layers thick enough to live with for twenty years or more.
At Grosvenor Flooring we cover the full wood-effect parquet category with the best of the British and European LVT design libraries. Browse the collection below, order up to 5 free samples to compare in your own light, or contact us via our enquiry form, WhatsApp or phone to talk a project through. Customers in Cheshire and South Manchester can see the parquet ranges laid out in our Altrincham showroom.
What Is Wood Effect Parquet LVT?
Wood-effect parquet LVT is luxury vinyl tile cut into small-format planks and designed to be laid in a herringbone or chevron pattern, mimicking traditional European oak parquet. Each plank carries a high-resolution wood-grain print and a deeply embossed surface that registers to the print, finished with a clear PU wear layer typically 0.55mm to 1mm thick. The result is a parquet floor with the look and feel of real wood that is fully waterproof, dimensionally stable and compatible with underfloor heating — and which avoids the gapping, cupping and shrinkage that small-format real-wood parquet can suffer from in centrally heated homes.
The Wood Effect Parquet Collections We Stock
Wood-effect herringbone and wood-effect chevron are the two parquet sub-formats — herringbone is the rectangular block laid at right angles, chevron is the V-cut block forming a continuous arrow.
By brand: Amtico Signature offers the deepest parquet design library on the UK market, including small-format and XL herringbone in glue-down 1mm spec. Karndean Art Select and Karndean Van Gogh both include parquet-cut wood plank designed for herringbone install. Project Floors Herringbone and Project Floors Chevron are the contract-grade German parquet libraries we use for designers and architects. Nordikka Tromso and Nordikka Bodo are our Scandinavian-styled herringbone options. Invictus Maximus rounds out the heavy-spec European parquet offer.
LVT Parquet vs Engineered Wood Parquet
The choice between an LVT parquet and a real engineered wood herringbone usually comes down to the room. LVT parquet wins in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and on top of underfloor heating where moisture and movement are factors. Engineered wood parquet wins in formal lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms where the project budget will stretch to a real-oak surface that can be sanded and re-finished decades later. We stock both, and we are happy to spec a project across the two if it makes sense.
Where to Use Wood Effect Parquet LVT
Parquet LVT is most often specified in kitchens, hallways, dining rooms and lounges — the rooms where the floor is on show. It is also a strong choice for conservatories and bathrooms where real wood would be inappropriate.
Underfloor Heating
All wood-effect parquet LVT ranges we stock are compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating up to a maximum surface temperature of 27°C. Glue-down parquet is the strongest performer on UFH because the planks bond directly to the heated subfloor — see our glue down LVT page for the technical reason why.
Installation Notes
Parquet patterns are more demanding to install than a straight plank — they need to be set out from the centre line of the room, perimeter cuts have to be planned, and a mistake mid-floor is harder to recover from. Use an experienced LVT fitter for any parquet project. Our own teams handle parquet installs across Cheshire and South Manchester from the Altrincham showroom.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Wood Effect Parquet LVT harder to install than regular LVT planks?
Yes, the installation is more complex. Laying a parquet pattern, such as herringbone or chevron, requires meticulous measurement and precise placement of each plank to ensure the pattern is symmetrical and perfectly aligned. For the best result, we strongly recommend professional installation.
How does it compare to real wood parquet flooring?
Wood Effect Parquet LVT offers the aesthetic of real wood parquet without the drawbacks. It is significantly more durable, completely waterproof, and much easier to maintain. While it lacks the natural uniqueness of real wood, it is more affordable and provides a far more practical solution for modern living.
Is this flooring suitable for a kitchen or bathroom?
Yes, absolutely. Its water-resistant properties make it an excellent choice for moisture-prone areas like kitchens and bathrooms. It allows you to have the sophisticated look of a parquet floor in a room where a traditional wood floor would be at risk of water damage.
