Yes. Luxury vinyl tile has no wood content, so the plank does not absorb water. Fitted as a glue-down floor that is bonded to the subfloor and silicone-sealed at the perimeter, it behaves as a continuous water-resistant surface, which is why it outperforms wood-cored waterproof laminate in a wet room.

Glue-down, every time. A glued floor bonds every plank to the subfloor and seals the perimeter under the skirting, so there are no floating joints or expansion gaps for water to reach. Click and loose-lay systems are not recommended for bathrooms.

A bathroom is usually low traffic, so a 0.3mm wear layer such as Amtico First or Karndean Knight Tile is enough. Many customers step up to 0.55mm (Amtico Spacia or Karndean Van Gogh) when the bathroom floor continues from a hallway or bedroom, mainly for the longer warranty and a consistent floor upstairs.

Standard LVT has good grip underfoot and the textured stone and wood embosses add slip resistance. For a bathroom used by anyone less steady on their feet, ask us about the safety-rated options with enhanced wet slip resistance when you request a quote.

LVT is warmer and more comfortable underfoot than ceramic or porcelain, has no grout lines to clean, will not crack on a flexing upper-floor subfloor and does not overload the joists. It also pairs well with underfloor heating for a warm floor first thing in the morning.

Yes. Every glue-down range we stock is compatible with both wet and electric underfloor heating up to a maximum surface temperature of 27C. Acclimatise the boxes in the room for 48 hours before fitting and follow the heating system's commissioning sequence.
