Karndean Palio Essenza Piazza Oak Herringbone (SM-PVP402) is a glue-down luxury vinyl floor supplied as individual blocks in a laid-back light oak finish for a timeless herringbone pattern. Part of the Palio Essenza range, it pairs the character of real wood parquet with the durability and easy upkeep of premium LVT. Piazza Oak is also available as a straight plank for a classic laid finish.
Each block measures 457.2mm x 76.2mm and is 2mm thick with a 0.3mm wear layer and a protective PU coating. The non-bevelled edge keeps the herringbone pattern tight and seamless. An R10 slip-resistance rating adds grip underfoot.
With its 0.3mm wear layer, Piazza Oak is best matched to normal residential traffic and light commercial settings (use class 23 and 31). For very high-traffic or statement projects, Karndean Van Gogh or Karndean Art Select step up the wear layer.
Piazza Oak suits living rooms, hallways, kitchens, dining rooms and bedrooms. It is water-resistant and suitable for kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms when installed with the correct adhesives and perimeter detailing. Palio Essenza is water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. As a glue-down floor with a PU-coated surface it performs well in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways when installed with the correct adhesives and perimeter detailing. Wipe up spills promptly and it will keep its finish for years.
What is the difference between the plank and herringbone versions of Piazza Oak?
The plank version uses larger 1219.2mm x 177.8mm boards for a classic straight-laid floor. The herringbone version uses smaller 457.2mm x 76.2mm blocks laid in a V pattern for a decorative parquet look. The colour, thickness and 0.3mm wear layer are the same.
Do I need professional installation for the herringbone?
We recommend it. Herringbone is more intricate to set out than straight planks. As a glue-down floor it needs a clean, level and fully prepared subfloor to keep the pattern tight and even. A professional fitter will get the angles and alignment right.
What size are the herringbone blocks and how much does a pack cover?
Each block measures 457.2mm x 76.2mm and every pack covers 3.345m2. To estimate how many packs you need, divide your room area in square metres by 3.345, then add around 10% for cutting and waste. The minimum order is 6 packs.
