Frequently Asked Questions
Is Polyflor Expona Design waterproof?
Yes. Polyflor Expona Design is inherently waterproof, so it can be fitted in kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas and entranceways as well as commercial spaces such as cafes and healthcare facilities. It will not be damaged by spills or moisture.
What size is Natural Brushed Oak and how much does a pack cover?
Each plank measures 203mm x 1219mm and every pack covers 3.46m2. To estimate how many packs you need, divide your area in square metres by 3.46, then add around 10% for cutting and waste.
How durable is Polyflor Expona Design?
Expona Design is Polyflor's most hard-wearing commercial LVT and has a 0.7mm wear layer (the thickest in the range) rated Class 34 commercial very heavy and Class 43 heavy industrial. It stands up to flagship retail, hospitality and university-campus levels of traffic.
How is Expona Design installed?
It is a glue-down (dryback) floor, so it is bonded to the subfloor with Polyflor's recommended adhesive for a fully bonded and dimensionally stable finish. Professional installation over a clean, level and fully prepared subfloor is recommended.
Can Expona Design be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. It is compatible with most underfloor heating systems, subject to Polyflor's maximum surface temperature of 27C. Follow Polyflor's installation guidance for underfloor heating to keep the warranty valid.
What is the difference between Expona Design and Expona Commercial?
Both are Polyflor glue-down commercial LVT. Expona Commercial has a 0.55mm wear layer for mainstream commercial use. Expona Design steps up to a 3.0mm gauge with a 0.7mm wear layer and a deeper 100-plus design library, for the heaviest-traffic and design-led projects.
