Description
Quick-Step Alpha Illume Soft Sky is a soft sky stone-effect rigid vinyl tile. Part of the Quick-Step Alpha Illume collection, the soft light-palette stone range in Alpha Vinyl, it is a 6mm floor (a 5mm rigid SPC core plus a 1mm attached acoustic underlay) with a 0.55mm wear layer.
Illume is built around diffuse, muted, concrete-inspired tones and soft pastel colourways, designed for bright and calm interiors where the floor sits back rather than making a statement. The large 856mm x 428mm tile format gives a clean, contemporary finish.
Quick-Step Alpha Illume is 100% waterproof thanks to its Hydroseal surface and rigid SPC core, so it can be fitted in any room including kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. The pre-attached acoustic underlay makes it quieter underfoot and removes the need for a separate underlay.
Rated Class 33 for commercial use and finished with a Scratch and Stain Guard surface, Alpha Illume suits busy homes and light commercial spaces. It uses the Uniclic click system, floats over most existing hard subfloors and is compatible with underfloor heating.
Backed by a lifetime residential warranty and made in Belgium, Quick-Step Alpha Illume is part of the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl range. For bolder high-character stone effects, see Quick-Step Alpha Oro. Each tile measures 856mm x 428mm and each pack covers 2.2m2. Buy online with fast UK delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Quick-Step Alpha Illume waterproof?
Yes. Quick-Step Alpha Illume is 100% waterproof thanks to its Hydroseal surface and rigid SPC core, so it can be fitted in any room including kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. Spills and everyday moisture will not damage the floor.
What size is each tile and how much does a pack cover?
Each tile measures 856mm x 428mm and every pack covers 2.2m2. To estimate how many packs you need, divide your room area in square metres by 2.2, then add around 10% for cutting and waste.
How is Quick-Step Alpha Illume installed?
It uses the Quick-Step Uniclic click system and floats over most existing hard subfloors, so there is no glue or adhesive. The pre-attached acoustic underlay means no separate underlay is needed. The subfloor should be clean, dry and broadly level.
Does Quick-Step Alpha Illume need underlay?
No. Alpha Illume has a pre-attached acoustic underlay, so you do not need to buy a separate underlay. It reduces impact sound and makes the floor quieter underfoot.
Can Quick-Step Alpha Illume be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. Alpha Illume is compatible with most water-based underfloor heating systems. Follow Quick-Step's guidance on maximum surface temperature to keep the warranty valid.
How is Illume different from Alpha Oro?
Illume and Oro are both stone-effect tile ranges in Alpha Vinyl. Illume uses soft, muted, concrete-inspired tones for calm, light-filled rooms where the floor is recessive. Oro leans into bold, high-character stone effects such as marble, slate and volcanic rock for a statement floor.
