Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Polyflor Expona Commercial used?
Expona Commercial is a benchmark commercial LVT used in offices, retail, hospitality, education, healthcare and other high-traffic public spaces. Its 0.55mm wear layer and Class 33/42 rating are built for years of heavy footfall.
What size is Tan Cement and how much does a pack cover?
Each tile measures 610mm x 1219mm and every pack covers 5.95m2. To estimate how many packs you need, divide your area in square metres by 5.95, then add around 10% for cutting and waste.
Is Expona Commercial waterproof and suitable for wet areas?
Expona Commercial is water-resistant and R10 slip-rated, which suits commercial washrooms, light retail kitchens and most commercial wet zones. For wet zones that need enhanced slip resistance, Polyflor Expona Control is the specialist option.
How is Expona Commercial installed?
It is a glue-down (dryback) floor, so it is bonded to the subfloor with Polyflor's recommended adhesive for a fully bonded and dimensionally stable finish. Professional installation over a clean, level and fully prepared subfloor is recommended for commercial areas.
Can Expona Commercial be used with underfloor heating?
Yes. It is compatible with underfloor heating, subject to Polyflor's maximum surface temperature of 27C. Always follow Polyflor and the heating manufacturer's installation guidance.
What is the difference between Expona Commercial and Expona Design?
Both are Polyflor glue-down commercial LVT. Expona Commercial is 2.5mm with a 0.55mm wear layer for mainstream commercial fit-out. Expona Design steps up to 3.0mm with a 0.7mm wear layer and a deeper design library, for the heaviest-traffic and design-led projects.
