Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Polyflor flooring made?

Polyflor is made in the UK. The company has manufactured resilient flooring in Whitefield, Manchester since 1915 and designs and produces the majority of its LVT domestically rather than importing, which gives it a Made in Britain credential.

What is Polyflor PUR?

PUR is Polyflor's polyurethane reinforcement, a factory-applied surface treatment on every Polyflor LVT range. It gives the floor a durable, low-maintenance finish that does not need polishing, so day-to-day care is simple sweeping and a damp mop.

Which Polyflor range should I choose?

For most homes, Camaro is the starting point in glue-down or Camaro Rigid Core in click. Colonia suits lower-traffic and parquet-led rooms on a budget. For commercial projects, Expona Commercial and Expona Design cover heavy and heavy-industrial use, Expona Control is the safety option and Affinity 255 is a heavy-commercial single wide plank.

What is the difference between Camaro and Camaro Rigid Core?

Both share the Camaro design identity. Camaro PUR is a 2.5mm glue-down floor bonded to the subfloor. Camaro Rigid Core is a 5.5mm SPC click floor with a Valinge 5G locking system and an integral IXPE acoustic underlay for 18 decibels of impact sound reduction, so it floats over most existing floors and suits upstairs rooms and retrofits.

Is Polyflor LVT waterproof and suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes. Polyflor LVT is waterproof and well suited to kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways. Camaro Rigid Core is 100% waterproof by construction and the glue-down ranges are fully water-resistant when installed correctly.

Can Polyflor be used with underfloor heating?

Yes. All Polyflor LVT ranges work with wet and electric underfloor heating up to a maximum surface temperature of 27C. The glue-down ranges give the best heat transfer because they bond directly to the screed. Commission the heating gradually and use a floor probe to hold the surface temperature within range.

Is Polyflor suitable for commercial use?

Yes, this is where Polyflor is strongest. Expona Commercial is rated for heavy commercial use, Expona Design is rated to heavy industrial (use area 43) and Expona Control is patent-protected safety LVT for wet-area commercial settings. Three ranges also have BIM assets for architects working in Revit.

What do the different Polyflor wear layers mean?

The wear layer sets the durability. Colonia is 0.2mm (moderate residential), Camaro and Camaro Rigid Core are 0.3mm (residential heavy), Affinity 255 and Expona Commercial are 0.55mm (heavy commercial) and Expona Design and Expona Control are 0.7mm (heavy industrial and safety). Choose the wear layer to match how hard the floor will work.
