GF SPC Flooring Review: Waterproof Click LVT from £26.99/m²

GF SPC is our own-brand rigid-core click flooring — 25 waterproof floors in plank and herringbone formats, priced from £26.99/m². It’s part of the wider GF LVT collection, and it exists because we saw the same thing in luxury vinyl that we saw in engineered wood: buyers paying a premium for branded products that come out of the same European factories as much cheaper alternatives. This is our answer — proper SPC with a real specification, sold without the third-party brand markup.

This page is an honest review of what GF SPC actually is, how the spec holds up, and where it sits against the premium brands we also carry.

What Is GF SPC?

SPC stands for Stone Polymer Composite — a rigid-core construction that makes the plank completely waterproof, dimensionally stable, and stiff enough to bridge minor subfloor imperfections. Unlike flexible glue-down LVT (which bonds to the subfloor with adhesive), SPC is a click-fit floating floor that locks together and sits on top of the subfloor. No adhesive, no specialist fitting, no subfloor-prep drama. For a deeper explanation of SPC technology, read our SPC flooring guide.

The GF SPC range is named after Cotswold villages — Kingham, Blenheim, Burford, Campden, Daylesford, Bourton, Stow, Broadway, Norton, Lygon, Farncombe, Estelle, and more. Every floor comes with a built-in IXPE underlay (no separate underlay needed), a 25-year guarantee, and full compatibility with underfloor heating.

The Range: Two Thickness Tiers, 25 Designs

5mm Tier — 12 Designs from £26.99/m²

The 5mm tier is the entry point and the value workhorse of the GF SPC range. Twelve designs — six in herringbone format and six in standard plank — with a 0.5mm wear layer and built-in underlay. The 0.5mm wear layer is the residential standard: it handles kitchens, hallways, living rooms, and bedrooms without issue. At £26.99–£28.99/m², it’s realistic for whole-house installations where premium brands would blow the budget.

Herringbone designs in this tier include Daylesford Oak, Norton Oak, Lygon Oak, Kingham Oak, Blenheim Oak, and Dormy Oak. Plank versions of the same colourways are also available — so you can run herringbone in the kitchen and hallway, switch to matching planks in the bedrooms, and keep a cohesive look throughout.

6.5mm Tier — 13 Designs from £30.99/m²

The 6.5mm tier adds a thicker core for better acoustic performance and a more substantial feel underfoot. Thirteen designs across herringbone and plank formats, same 0.5mm wear layer and built-in underlay. At £30.99–£33.99/m², it’s a modest step up from the 5mm tier but the floor feels noticeably more solid — particularly over concrete subfloors or in rooms where sound dampening matters.

Designs in this tier include Burford Oak, Campden Oak, Bourton Oak, Broadway Oak, Stow Oak, Farncombe Oak, Evesham Oak, Estelle Oak, Hook Oak, Leoube Oak, and Thyme Oak — in both herringbone and plank formats where available.

How Does GF SPC Compare to Premium LVT?

We carry all the premium LVT brands in our showroom and on our website — Amtico, Karndean, Invictus, Nordikka, and more. So we can compare GF SPC against them honestly, because we sell them all.

GF SPC vs Amtico Click Smart: Amtico Click Smart is Amtico’s rigid-core click product — the same installation concept as GF SPC. Amtico brings a significantly wider design library, more surface texture options, and the Amtico brand warranty. The price difference is substantial: request a price on Amtico Click Smart and compare it to GF SPC at £26.99–£33.99/m². Both are waterproof click-fit floors. The question is whether the Amtico design library and brand warranty are worth the premium to you.

GF SPC vs Karndean Rigid Core: Karndean Knight Tile Rigid Core and Van Gogh Rigid Core are Karndean’s click-fit SPC equivalents. Like Amtico, Karndean commands a price premium for a wider design library and an established brand warranty. Request a price and compare side by side — GF SPC delivers the same core technology at a lower price point.

GF SPC vs Nordikka Click SPC: Nordikka Click SPC is the closest competitor on price. Nordikka is a checkout-enabled brand with transparent pricing and a strong design range. GF SPC and Nordikka Click SPC sit in a similar price bracket, so the choice between them often comes down to which colourway or surface finish suits your project. Order samples of both and compare.

Where Can You Use GF SPC?

Everywhere. The rigid SPC core is completely waterproof — not water-resistant, waterproof. The stone-polymer composite physically cannot absorb moisture. That means GF SPC goes in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, and hallways without hesitation. It handles living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, and home offices equally well.

The click-fit installation means it goes over most existing hard floors — tiles, concrete, old vinyl — as long as the surface is flat, clean, and dry. No adhesive means no curing time, and the floor can be uplifted and relaid if you need to access the subfloor or move the flooring to a different property. A standard room can be laid in a day.

Who Is GF SPC Best For?

Homeowners renovating kitchens and bathrooms who want a premium look without premium LVT prices — GF SPC herringbone at £26.99/m² gives you a waterproof herringbone floor in the kitchen for a fraction of what Amtico or Karndean herringbone would cost. Order free samples and compare the look in your own space.

Landlords and developers fitting out rental properties, HMOs, and holiday lets — GF SPC is the sweet spot of durability, appearance, and cost. Waterproof, scratch-resistant, easy to click in between tenancies, and cheap enough to cover an entire property without compromising on the look. At £27–£34/m², a 60m² flat costs under £2,100 in flooring material — including herringbone in the key rooms. If you’re fitting multiple properties, Grosvenor+ gives you member pricing, ex-VAT display, 10 free samples per order, project management tools, an AI mood board matcher, and a QR referral programme. It’s built for exactly this use case.

Builders and maintenance contractors replacing flooring on turnover or refurb jobs — GF SPC clicks in fast, doesn’t need adhesive or specialist subfloor prep, and looks premium on handover. It’s the fastest route from bare subfloor to finished room. Apply for Grosvenor+ for trade pricing on repeat orders.

Interior designers specifying flooring for residential and light commercial projects — GF SPC at £27–£34/m² lets you allocate budget to higher-impact design elements while still delivering a quality floor. The herringbone format looks premium in photography and on viewings. Grosvenor+ gives you access to trade pricing and project tools.

See It, Walk on It, Compare It

The difference between SPC products — and between SPC and traditional LVT — is something you can feel. Picking up a GF SPC plank and a flexible glue-down LVT plank makes the difference immediately obvious. Seeing a herringbone SPC floor laid at full room scale is different from looking at a single sample.

Our Altrincham showroom has the full GF SPC range on display alongside Amtico, Karndean, Nordikka, Invictus, and every other LVT brand we carry. Compare GF SPC against the premium alternatives in person — walk on both and decide whether the price difference is justified. The showroom is open 24/7 via our smart lock system — request a security code online and visit any time.

For customers in Altrincham, South Manchester, and Cheshire, we offer a full supply-and-fit service including measurement and professional installation.
