GF SPC Flooring Review: Waterproof Rigid Core Click LVT

GF SPC is our own-brand rigid core click flooring: waterproof floors in plank and herringbone, priced online with free samples by post. It is part of the wider GF LVT collection. The main range has 25 designs in two thicknesses and 11 GF by AW click designs with a 0.3mm wear layer sit alongside them. We built GF SPC so buyers can get a properly specified click floor without paying for a brand name.

What Is GF SPC?
SPC stands for Stone Polymer Composite – a rigid-core construction that makes the plank completely waterproof, dimensionally stable and stiff enough to bridge minor subfloor imperfections. Unlike flexible glue-down LVT (which bonds to the subfloor with adhesive), SPC is a click-fit floating floor that locks together and sits on top of the subfloor. The GF SPC range is named after Cotswold villages – Kingham, Blenheim, Burford, Campden, Daylesford, Bourton, Stow, Broadway, Norton, Lygon, Farncombe, Estelle and more. Every floor comes with a built-in IXPE underlay (no separate underlay needed), a 25-year guarantee and full compatibility with underfloor heating.
The Main Range: Two Thicknesses, 25 Designs
5mm: 12 Designs
The 5mm boards are the value choice in the GF SPC range. There are twelve designs, six herringbone and six plank, each with a 0.5mm wear layer and built-in underlay. A 0.5mm wear layer is a solid residential standard for kitchens, hallways, living rooms and bedrooms. The price makes whole-house installations realistic where a premium brand would stretch the budget.
Herringbone designs in this tier include Daylesford Oak, Norton Oak, Lygon Oak, Kingham Oak, Blenheim Oak and Dormy Oak. Plank versions of the same colourways are also available – so you can run herringbone in the kitchen and hallway, switch to matching planks in the bedrooms and keep a cohesive look throughout.
6.5mm: 13 Designs
The 6.5mm boards add a thicker core for a more solid feel and better sound performance. There are thirteen designs across herringbone and plank with the same 0.5mm wear layer and built-in underlay. It is a modest step up from the 5mm boards that is most noticeable over concrete or where quieter footfall matters.
Designs in this tier include Burford Oak, Campden Oak, Bourton Oak, Broadway Oak, Stow Oak, Farncombe Oak, Evesham Oak, Estelle Oak, Hook Oak, Leoube Oak and Thyme Oak – in both herringbone and plank formats where available.

How Does GF SPC Compare to Premium LVT?

Everywhere. The rigid SPC core is completely waterproof – not water-resistant, waterproof. The stone-polymer composite physically cannot absorb moisture. That means GF SPC goes in kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and hallways without hesitation. It handles living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and home offices equally well.
The click-fit installation means it goes over most existing hard floors – tiles, concrete, old vinyl – as long as the surface is flat, clean and dry. No adhesive means no curing time and the floor can be uplifted and relaid if you need to access the subfloor or move the flooring to a different property. A standard room can be laid in a day.
