Flooring in Poynton – Amtico, Karndean, Invictus & Engineered Wood

4.8 / 5 · from 145+ Google reviews

Poynton grew from a coal-mining village into a popular commuter town. Its housing tells that story: older cottages near the Park Lane shops, 1960s and 70s estates and larger homes around Higher Poynton and the Middlewood Way. Grosvenor Flooring supplies and fits floors across the SK12 postcode.

We are a Retail Partner for both Amtico and Karndean. We also sell Invictus, Project Floors, our own GF range and engineered wood. Surveys are carried out by Blake Williams, our Operations Director.

From Survey to Fitting in Poynton

Since the A555 opened, our Altrincham showroom is only around 25 minutes from Poynton, but you don’t have to come to us first. Blake visits your home, measures every room and checks what lies beneath the current flooring. Thanks to his training as an accountant at Baker Tilly, the quote he writes is detailed and easy to follow.

A regular team of fitters we know and trust then lays the floor. More detail is on our supply and fit service page.

Flooring for Poynton Homes

Cottages near Park Lane and Poynton Pool: older homes with character, where oak or a wood-effect LVT adds warmth.
1960s and 70s estates: family homes often extended at the back, ideal for one LVT floor through the hall, kitchen and dining room.
Higher Poynton: larger detached houses and country properties close to the Middlewood Way, where boots and bikes come through the door.
Bungalows: single-storey homes where a level floor without thresholds keeps rooms connected.

Amtico in Poynton

We supply Signature, Spacia, Form, First, Click Smart and Access. Spacia gives a realistic oak look across an open-plan extension. Signature offers patterns and feature stripping.

Fitting is explained on the Amtico floor fitter page. Our Altrincham Amtico guide describes the showroom.

Karndean in Poynton

We carry Art Select, Van Gogh, Van Gogh Rigid Core, Knight Tile, Knight Tile Rigid Core and Palio Essenza. Van Gogh suits the cottages, Knight Tile the busy family homes.

Our Amtico vs Karndean guide compares the brands. Installation is on the Karndean floor fitter page. The Karndean in Altrincham guide covers the displays.

Invictus, Project Floors, GF & Alva

Invictus offers four Belgian-engineered ranges for less, explained on our Invictus floor fitter page. Project Floors is the robust option for hallways that see bikes and boots. We also sell Alva, described in where to buy Alva in Altrincham.

Our GF range delivers big-brand looks at a lower price. Textures and Elements offer more wood-effect plank and herringbone choices. Free samples of GF, Textures and Elements are available. Read the LVT floor fitter page for fitting details.

Engineered Wood in Poynton

Engineered oak works in Poynton’s older cottages and over underfloor heating in modern extensions. Our own GF engineered wood comes in plank, herringbone, chevron and Versailles. You can see every board in the Wood Room.

If Ted Todd or Woodpecker made your shortlist, see how GF measures up in looking for a Ted Todd alternative? and looking for a Woodpecker alternative?. Fitting is covered on the engineered wood floor fitter page.

Flooring in Poynton – Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I get to your showroom from Poynton?

The A555 makes it a straightforward 25-minute drive. Come late if you like: the doors open with a code.

Do you cover Higher Poynton and Adlington?

Yes, along with the rest of SK12.

What flooring suits a 1970s house with an extension?

One continuous LVT floor through the hall, kitchen and extension gives a clean, modern look. Blake will check the different subfloors first.

Do you sell Alva flooring?

We do. Alva sits alongside the other brands in the showroom so you can compare them directly.

Can I have one floor through a bungalow?

Yes. A continuous floor without thresholds keeps the rooms step-free.

Will engineered wood work over underfloor heating?

Engineered oak is generally a good partner for underfloor heating. All GF boards are compatible.

Which samples are free?

We post GF, Textures and Elements samples free. The rest are on display in Altrincham.

Who carries out the survey?

Blake Williams visits every Poynton home.
