WHAT AN LVT INSTALLATION INVOLVES
Most luxury vinyl is glue-down, which means a flawless finish depends almost entirely on subfloor preparation. A rushed or skipped prep stage is the single most common reason an LVT floor fails. Here is what a proper fit involves so you know what you are paying for.
Subfloor Preparation
We assess the existing subfloor, then apply a latex smoothing compound to create the flat, sound, moisture-stable base LVT requires. On timber subfloors this usually means overboarding with plywood first. Standard preparation is included in our fitted quotes and we flag any major remedial work in your quote rather than adding it later as a surprise.
Acclimatisation
LVT is left in the room to acclimatise before fitting so the material settles to the temperature of the space. Skipping this risks lifting or gapping once the heating cycles through the year.
Glue-Down, Click and Laying Patterns
We fit glue-down planks and tiles, click and rigid-core systems and pattern work including herringbone, parquet and designs with feature borders. LVT FITTING COST

A simple plank layout in a square room costs less per square metre than herringbone in a space with lots of cuts and obstacles. Glue-down bonds directly to a fully prepared subfloor and gives the most secure, seamless finish, which is why it needs careful subfloor smoothing. Click and rigid-core systems float over most subfloors and install faster. We fit both and will advise which suits your room and subfloor.
