Grosvenor Flooring supplies and fits luxury vinyl tile (LVT) in homes all over Chester. We have a wide choice, from our own GF range to Amtico, Karndean, Invictus, Project Floors, Textures and Elements, so you can compare most of the market with one company.

Where to buy LVT flooring in Chester – Grosvenor Flooring

Blake Williams, our Operations Director, carries out every home visit. Blake grew up on Lache Lane and lives in Tarvin, a few miles east of the city. He measures up, checks the subfloor and puts a fixed price in writing.

Why has LVT taken over from laminate and tiles in so many Chester kitchens? It is waterproof, quieter and warmer underfoot than ceramic, hard-wearing and convincingly realistic. It also works with underfloor heating.

Start With GF, Our Own Range

GF by Grosvenor Flooring is the LVT we developed after years of selling the big names. The specification is premium, but you are not paying for a famous logo. There are three collections:

Each GF floor is matched to a big-brand design, so if you have fallen for a floor elsewhere there is usually a GF version for less. Order free GF samples and try them in your own rooms.

GF Glue-Down planks and tiles, bonded to a prepared base for a flat, solid finish. Read our GF glue-down review.
GF SPC, a rigid core click plank that copes with most existing hard floors underneath. See the GF SPC review.
GF by Associated Weavers, eight glue-down oak designs in plank and parquet. It has a 0.55mm wear layer and a 25-year warranty.

The Big Brands We Sell

We are an Amtico Retail Partner and a Karndean Retail Partner. We also sell the Belgian-engineered Invictus. Each has its own Chester guide: Amtico, Karndean and Invictus. Our round-up of the best LVT flooring in the UK compares them all.

Textures, Elements and Project Floors

Textures and Elements are wood-effect LVT ranges in plank and herringbone. Elements comes in twelve wood shades. Both have free samples, so you can have designs at home before Blake arrives.

Project Floors is a glue-down LVT made for professional fitting. It comes in plank, herringbone and chevron collections. It is built for heavy use, which makes it a favourite with landlords who let flats and student houses in the city.

Three Decisions That Narrow It Down

1. Glue-down or click? Glue-down gives the flattest, quietest result and the best heat transfer from underfloor heating. Click goes in faster and needs less preparation. Our glue-down vs click guide explains the trade-offs.

2. How thick a wear layer? Around 0.3mm suits bedrooms and lighter use. 0.55mm is the sweet spot for most living spaces. 0.7mm is for the busiest kitchens and halls.

3. Planks or a pattern? Straight planks are quickest and suit modern rooms. Herringbone and parquet suit the period houses in Hoole, Handbridge and around the walls. Our herringbone flooring guide has ideas.

Fitting LVT in Chester Homes

The city’s mix of housing means no two subfloors are alike. Victorian terraces often have timber boards that need a ply overlay. Many 1930s semis have uneven concrete that needs smoothing. New builds may have underfloor heating that Blake needs to check. He decides all of this on site and includes it in the quote, so there are no surprises on fitting day.

The floor is then laid by a regular team of fitters we know and trust, across the CH1 to CH4 postcodes. See our LVT floor fitter page for the details.

Booking Blake

A home visit is free and there is no minimum job size. Blake qualified as an accountant at Baker Tilly before joining the family business, so his quotes are itemised and easy to follow. Contact us with your postcode and the rooms you are planning.

Can I See LVT Before I Buy?

Yes. GF, Amtico, Karndean, Invictus and Project Floors are on full-size display at our Altrincham showroom, 82 Stamford New Road, about 45 minutes from Chester via the M56. It is a 24/7 Smart Showroom, so request a door code and visit any day or evening. If you prefer, start with free samples and Blake’s visit and come over later to make the final choice.

What Does LVT Cost in Chester?

The brand and wear layer set the starting point, then your rooms decide the rest. Preparation, room shape, glue-down versus click, laying pattern, thresholds and taking up an old floor all affect the total. Blake breaks every element out in his written quote. Our LVT pricing guide shows typical fitted prices.

We fit LVT throughout the city and its villages, from Hoole, Upton and Newton to Handbridge, Curzon Park and Queens Park. Further out we cover Christleton, Waverton, Huntington, Mickle Trafford, Tarvin and Tattenhall. Send your postcode if you are unsure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy LVT flooring in Chester?

From Grosvenor Flooring. We sell seven LVT brands in the city and fit them too. Our own GF range is usually the best value and Blake Williams will help you compare it against the big names on his home visit.

Who fits LVT flooring in Chester?

Grosvenor Flooring. Blake Williams surveys the job first, then the floor is laid across CH1 to CH4 by a regular team of fitters we know and trust.

What wear layer do I need?

For most living rooms and kitchens, 0.55mm is plenty. Choose 0.7mm for a very busy kitchen or hallway and 0.3mm for bedrooms.

Is LVT better than laminate?

For kitchens, bathrooms and halls, usually yes. LVT is waterproof and quieter underfoot. Laminate can be cheaper for bedrooms and living rooms that stay dry.

Which LVT is the best?

The best floor depends on the room and your budget. Amtico and Karndean are the best-known names, Invictus is strong value and GF matches the big brands for less. Blake can help you choose.

Do you offer free LVT samples?

Yes, on our own GF range and on Textures and Elements. Amtico, Karndean, Invictus and Project Floors are on display in our showroom instead.

Can LVT go over underfloor heating?

Yes, within each manufacturer’s temperature limit. Glue-down LVT transfers heat best. Blake checks your system on his visit.

How much does fitted LVT cost in Chester?

It depends on the range, the rooms, the preparation and the laying pattern. We price each job after a free home visit and confirm everything in writing.
