Every Chester job begins with a free visit from Blake Williams, our Operations Director. Blake was born and raised in Chester and lives in Tarvin. He surveys the rooms, checks the subfloor and gives you a written price before anything is ordered.
What Is Invictus?
Invictus is a Belgian-engineered LVT brand. It is less well known than Amtico or Karndean, but floor for floor the build quality stands comparison with both and the price is usually sharper. That combination is why we added it to our range.
Every Invictus floor is waterproof, so it can go in kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms. All four ranges work with wet or electric underfloor heating up to a surface temperature of 27 degrees. Our introduction to Invictus covers the brand’s background.
Four Ranges, Two Formats
Three of the four are glue-down. Bonding the floor to a prepared base gives the flattest and quietest result, which is why most experienced fitters prefer it.
Matching Invictus to a Chester Home
A Hoole terrace with a long narrow hall often suits Maximus in a herringbone, which makes the space feel wider. An open-plan kitchen in a newer house in Upton might go for Ultimus because it is the toughest of the four. A rented flat near the city centre is a natural home for Primus or Maximus Click, which keep costs down without looking cheap. Our Invictus herringbone guide shows the patterned options.
Fitting Invictus in Chester
For the glue-down ranges, the subfloor matters more than anything. Chester’s older houses often have timber boards that need overlaying with ply, or concrete that needs a smoothing compound before the floor can go down. Maximus Click is more forgiving and can go over most existing hard floors with less work, which is handy upstairs or for a fast turnaround.
Blake decides what each room needs when he visits and the cost is in your quote from the start. The floor is then laid by a regular team of fitters we know and trust. The Invictus floor fitter page sets out the process in more detail.
Blake’s Visit
Blake will measure every room, look at how the space is used and talk you through which range suits it. He qualified as an accountant at Baker Tilly before joining the family business, so his quotes list every item clearly. Jobs of any size are welcome, from one cloakroom to a whole house. Contact us with your postcode and the rooms involved.
See Invictus Next to Amtico and Karndean
The four ranges are laid out at our Altrincham showroom, 82 Stamford New Road, roughly 45 minutes from Chester via the M56. It is a 24/7 Smart Showroom, so request a door code and call in at a time that suits you.
The best thing about the visit is the comparison. Invictus sits in the same room as Amtico, Karndean and our GF range, so you can line up floors with the same wear layer and judge the differences for yourself.
Invictus Prices in Chester
At the same wear layer, Invictus usually costs less than Amtico or Karndean. The fitted total also depends on your rooms. Older Chester properties tend to need more preparation. Glue-down takes longer than click. Herringbone takes longer than straight planks. Thresholds and removing an existing floor add to the job as well.
Blake lists each part separately in his written quote. Our Invictus prices guide explains the cost factors.
How Invictus Lines Up Against the Big Two
Primus is the rough equivalent of Karndean Knight Tile or Amtico First. Maximus compares with Karndean Van Gogh or Amtico Spacia. Ultimus is up against Karndean Art Select. Amtico and Karndean offer more designs and more laying patterns, while Invictus wins on price. Our Invictus vs Karndean guide goes into detail.
