What an Invictus Installation Involves
Three of the four Invictus ranges are glue-down, the format experienced fitters prefer for the flattest, quietest and longest-lasting result. That means a good finish depends on the preparation. Here is what a proper fit involves so you know what you are paying for.
Subfloor Preparation
We assess the existing subfloor, then apply a smoothing compound to create the flat, sound base glue-down Invictus needs. On timber subfloors this usually means overboarding with plywood first. Maximus Click is more forgiving and can often go over an existing hard floor. Preparation is included in our fitted quotes rather than added later.
Acclimatisation
Invictus planks are left in the room to acclimatise before fitting so the material settles to the temperature of the space.
Underfloor Heating
Every Invictus range works with wet and electric underfloor heating up to a 27 degree surface temperature. Glue-down gives the best heat transfer, so we usually recommend it where underfloor heating matters.
Laying Patterns
We fit standard plank layouts as well as Invictus herringbone. Herringbone takes longer and needs a more experienced hand, which is reflected in the fitting time rather than corners being cut.

Fitting cost depends on the range you choose, glue-down or click, the laying pattern, the condition of your subfloor and the size and layout of the rooms. Every home visit is carried out by Blake Williams, our Operations Director. He measures up, checks the subfloor and gives you a clear written quote. The floor is then laid by a regular team of fitters we know and trust.
