Where to Buy Karndean Flooring in Chester

Chester homeowners deal with one person from start to finish: Blake Williams, our Operations Director. Blake is a Chester lad who now lives in Tarvin. He comes out to measure, works out what the subfloor needs and puts the whole price in writing before anything is ordered.

Because we are an Amtico Retail Partner as well, nobody here has a reason to talk you out of Karndean or into it. You get a straight answer on which brand suits your rooms.

What Happens When Blake Visits

Blake will walk through each room with you and ask how it gets used. A kitchen with a back door to the garden needs a different answer from a spare bedroom. He then measures up, checks what is under the current floor where he can and notes doorways, thresholds and any underfloor heating.

Within a short time you receive a written price that lists every element of the job. Blake qualified as an accountant at Baker Tilly, so expect the numbers to add up. We take on single rooms as readily as whole houses. Send us a message with your postcode to book.

Preparing a Chester Floor for Karndean

Many of the city’s older homes have suspended timber floors or uneven concrete under the existing flooring. Glue-down Karndean shows every ridge, so boards are usually overlaid with ply and concrete is smoothed with a levelling compound. Rigid core is more forgiving but still needs a reasonably flat base.

Whatever is needed is priced on the visit. The floor is then laid by a regular team of fitters we know and trust. See our Karndean floor fitter page for the full fitting process.

What Does Karndean Cost in Chester?

Each job is priced on its own because the variables change so much. The range is one factor. Others include how much preparation the floor needs, whether you choose glue-down or click, the number of doorways and whether the layout is straight planks or a pattern. Lifting and disposing of an old floor adds to the total too.

Blake’s quote breaks all of this out line by line, which makes it simple to compare fairly with another supplier. Our Karndean flooring prices guide explains the main factors.
