The boards are left in the room to acclimatise to its temperature and humidity before fitting, so the wood settles before it is laid rather than after. This matters more for wood than for any other floor type.
Fitting Method and Expansion
Depending on the subfloor and the room, we fit engineered wood as a glue-down (fully bonded), a floating floor over underlay, or secret-nailed where appropriate. We leave the correct expansion gaps around the perimeter so the floor can move naturally through the seasons, then finish neatly to skirtings, thresholds and any herringbone or chevron pattern.
