Kahrs and V4 are two of the premium engineered oak brands we supply. Kahrs is a Swedish manufacturer with one of the largest engineered wood catalogues in Europe. Range and style

Kahrs covers a huge spread: Nordic pale oak, smoked boards, the hand-scraped Smaland planks, the rustic Da Capo and Ingresso collections, the design-led Piazza range and the budget-friendly Kahrs Life veneer floors. Most of it is 3-layer parquet with Kahrs’ Woodloc click joint.

V4 keeps to six collections, each with a clear purpose. Alpine is the core oak plank, Deco pairs plank with herringbone, Tundra adds herringbone and chevron, Driftwood is a click plank, Heritage covers character oak and Urban Nature brings wide, hand-scraped boards with a matching herringbone.

Construction and oak depth

Kahrs’ 3-layer boards are known for stability, which makes them a safe choice over underfloor heating. Piazza uses a 2-layer build with a 3.5mm oak top. Kahrs Life uses a thin veneer that is not designed to be sanded.

V4 uses multi-layer and birch ply constructions. Urban Nature is a 15mm board with a 4mm oak top. Tundra’s herringbone and chevron sit on a birch ply core with a deeper oak layer.

You want to see and stand on the boards before you buy.

You are after a particular colour or finish and want the widest choice.

You want the cheapest way into a premium-brand oak floor: Kahrs Life.

You like a Scandinavian look.

When to choose V4

You want plank and herringbone or chevron in matching colours.

You want a chevron. V4 Tundra has one; Kahrs does not make an engineered wood chevron.

The longest guarantee matters: 35 years domestic.

You want a wide, hand-scraped plank such as Urban Nature.

Kahrs is bought through our Altrincham showroom on a quote, supply only or supply and fit. Kahrs samples are for viewing in the showroom only. V4 is quoted on request and ordered direct from V4 on our Gold Account; it is not on display, so we work from V4’s specifications and photographs. Delivery is free across the UK. We fit across Altrincham, Manchester and Cheshire using a regular team of fitters we know and trust.
